And what are you talking about performance what do you intend to do with your phone how does those extra cores benifit you Companies prefer battery life over performance as the average Joe won't even notice the difference of performance Between a 625/626/630 over a 660 but he will definitely notice the difference in battery life You are better off buying the mediatek chipsets as if you will be happier with zero support and zero custom ROMs
Also 660 is intended to be a higher midrange chipset for phones costing 500-600$ not 300-400$ so how do expect it to be in all the lower midrange phones do you know how much chipsets cost and how much profit margin is intended for each product before they are sold in the market
Also Snapdragon 660 is not mass market yet there a handful of phones with this chipset
If you like a chipset or a phone buy that don't whine about a phone which does not have it

Sick and effin tired of seeing new phones released with the 625/626/630 , costing upwards of 400 USD.
Where is the SD 660? Hell, even the Mediatek X23/25/27 is better than the 630. Battery life may be great and all but ultimately core performance matters.

Why don't you give OIS... It is ridiculous phone at this range doesn't feature OIS.. Currently Only MI and ASUS are making phones with OIS at this price range. Don't know about other Chinese manufacturers. Samsung had also removed OIS from 2017 A series which was there in 2016 models, even though 2017 A series was costlier than 2016.. Even Samsung C series doesn't. Flagships like One plus 5, Sony xz1 holy Crap....

Though the battery life should be solid with that soc.

I'm looking for a great mid-ranger with an AMOLED screen, and preferably with a close to stock Android without any crapware installed. Apparently there's a conspiracy to never let me find one since all phones are released with the bloody IPS screens. Practically the only option is Samsung and I seriously dislike the bloatware they install on their phones, and I'm not too wild about TouchWiz either. I was hoping Moto X4 would finally be this mythical beast, but no. Oh well.

I think this will make a nice replacement for my 2014 Moto X. Not worried about the glass back as I will have either a thin clear case or Slickwrap on it.
