Both are NOT Symbian - and in its lower price range (which is also mid to high range of S40 "feature phones"...) you can now very much find nice Android phones, ZTE Blade for example.

With over 1 billion ... moreThat is no longer true.If you look at the market now you will see alot of low/mid range phones running Android that are just as sfordable as those from Nokia.Even in the low/mid range market Nokia is loosing ground fast to Android(not to Apple since Apple doesn´t step into that market) so it´s just a matter of time

I really got to laugh at android because its distributed for free.

Many say iOS not true muli-tasking.
                Whats true multi-tasking then ?

                Only difference is no widgets.

                Some may say "no-flash"
But even adobe recently ditching flash because they also started promoting HTML-5
Because of more standards and more advantages

Even youtube videos encoded with h.264.

And most of websites have apps so there is no need that much for flash.

Only thing i love about android are widgets but android devices are too bad for battery and slowdown during multi-tasking. They become even more sluggish especially in those moments where u really get frustrated.

Yes they have choice for devices that one of huge advantages out there.

I can buy low end or high end devices basing on my needs.

                Overall both same

Android got some advantages and iOS got some advantages

                Both have downsides.

                Overall both OS are good

Just Android or IOS, there is no 3rd option other than these two for a better smart phone, u may consider Bada, bt it will take time for it to catch IOS & Android.

For your information, some of the things you mentioned, IOS already have this like the WiFi personal hotspot. Android on the other hand has lots of potential but few hiccups made me think if switching to Android is worth sacrificing my iPhone 4. While I was trying to convince myself to switch to Android, they need to fix some basic features that they don't have which really matters to normal users:
                        - They need to improve the WPA Interprise support for the WiFi. The Galaxy S cannot connect to our WiFi, same with HTC models that I tried.
                        - There is no native support for the secondary camera to make video calls on popular IM. YM video call cannot use front camera, no support for Skype video call.
                        - Improve WiFi connection. They even cannot connect to a ad-hoc connection.
                        - Hardware accelerated application so they can take advantage of dual core CPU.
                        - Timely and regular updates of OS.

With over 1 billion people and 25% of them below the poverty line and estimates of yearly income below US$3,000.00, having the latest and greatest mobile smartphone is the last thing on their minds. Symbian handsets can be had for $20.00 or less new and off contract. Can any of your "smartphones" compete with that? NO! It's a different market and almost a different world. You probably aren't aware that these Symbian users were texting years before you smartphone users could even spell hi on a standard handset keyboard.

Android and iOS are making headway, but only for those who can afford the expensive handsets in metro areas. As 50% live under the poverty line, you can imagine that Nokias Symbian phones will sell like hotcakes compared to the high end phones. So Symbian will stay king for a while in terms of number of handsets sold.
