Whatever a featurephone achieve in benchmarks it can never be better than the smartphone, so here a featurephone topped a petty benchmarks test and made primitive people so happy!!
Well done apple, you know how to make people happy with shit!! Oops iShit🎃

Well, it should be at least this impressive to count as anniversary phone. Arent all the Apple user glad A11 Bionics do well in benchmark. Because if it doesnt it will be the first thing fandroid bashed. We'll see how things goes. I bet Qualcomm and Exynos felt challenged by this.

Enjoy using that powerful chipset on a screen that crops out the videos and pictures so it can avoid fitting in that ugly selfie/sensors space and from the buttom as well. The iphone 7 was like the whole screen and now it's just unpleasant to watch. They were better off make a same screen as S8 and bigger too so people can enjoy the powerful chipset in action like they should. From 5'8 inch screen, with cropped it's like a 5'4 in screen or smaller.

AnonD-147910, 16 Sep 2017Do you know that next week the 2013 iphone 5s will get iOS ... moreDo you know mi2 will get miui 9. That's equivalent of iPhone 4s getting iOS 11. Different manufacturers support their devices differently. Android is not a manufacturer read it again till you grasp it.....

How trusty are cross-platform benchmark scores, though? I'm not saying the A11 isn't powerful (it definitely is), but the difference between the A11 and SD845/Exynos 8895 is just too much, especially given the fact that both Qualcomm and Samsung use the most advanced tech in their chipsets. Makes me wonder if some of that difference is entirely due the superb optimisation in iOS....and due to the frankly terrible optimisation in Android.
But then again, I'm probably just making excuses for Android because the Android fanboy in me is just butthurt at the notion of Apple dominating the chipset prowess competition AGAIN while in truth, Apple chipsets most likely are much better designed than Android ones. Oh well.

AnonD-191847, 16 Sep 2017If, against what I argued before, the scores are actually l... moreApple gives only 6th generation i5/i7 processors in macs and MacBooks while the competition has i7 7th generation since last year. How do you believe they'll give you a better processor in a phone where you want you to pay additionally for a fast charger even? Apple has got some good tricks to sell cheap charity products at sky high prices. Anyone who is actually aware of technology and know the meaning of marketing can easily tell that Samsung Note 8 or even S8 is much superior than the anniversary version of Apple. Check out the detailed capabilities of each phone even if you are weak at tech.

dladz, 16 Sep 2017Apple has one device, one OS.
Android has 1,000's of de... moreDo you know that next week the 2013 iphone 5s will get iOS 11? That's the equivalent of the Galaxy S4 getting android Oreo!
Why am I telling you this? Because you asked what apple users are going to do with so much horsepower. Longevity!!! Updates!!! Future proofing.
It could also be for the 4K60fps video recording and the 1080p 240fps video recording which even the Galaxy Note 8 lacks.
Be it apples optimization, the iOS, the hardware it doesn't matter. iPhones are fast phones and remain fast for years.
P. S. Psp emulator exists on iOS too without even jailbreaking.

Flossy420, 16 Sep 2017Again..... No competition for iphone with A11 chip Even m... morePerhaps in single core but probably not in multi core. With the new Cortex A75 and A55 customized Kryo cores probably in single core the A75 ones will reach a score of with more of 22% of increase of performance more the customization and more the increase of the frequency of the cores perhaps for 2.7GHz, probably will reach about 2550 points more or less the performance of Apple A9 or a little more. Perhaps in multi core will reach the 11000 points.

I prefer Android too. For me unlock the bootloader, root and have the complete control of the phone is very important and let me do things that are imposible with the Apple phones. As programming special apps to control the hardware at low level, etc. About the performance, today you can see how mid range phones are capable of run the most demanding games without lose significant quality in graphics and without lag/glichs. So is not about the performance instead of what you can do with your phone.
But as I said before I like see Apple pushing the limits because at the end that will influence in other manufactures to improve their SoCs for Android phones and we'll win with this too. And good, congratulations to the Apple users due to their new A11 option.

All well and good. Congrats. Fantastic, Bravo. But seriously in most cases of use its irrelevant. There are plenty of phones lightening fast, in fact more than enough. There are no complaints for the likes of 835 or prior apple chips for everyday use and heavy at that. First world issue really. If you spent all your humanist time on games and some other niche areas it might be of some value but likely now.
Don't lose your head nor your wallet.

Finally.. Apple admits that multicore is much more important than single core.. What a great benchmark! This is like the LaFerrari fast in the hypercar world.. But like LaFerrari, you, although the owner, cannot drive on any road unless approved by Ferrari.. This beast of a chip will at last stuck in the walled garden of pseudo(read: fake) multitasking of Apple forever condemned to process the pathetic Animojis.. LOL

AnonD-572776, 16 Sep 2017I always liked apple hardware, too bad they use IOS :\My thoughts exactly. Also, iPhone batteries could be bigger. But performance-wise, iPhone has legit bragging rights with these benchmarks.

its awesome soc but...
seriously some of you compare it to i7 what are you smoking guys
is A11 built on 2nm or am i missing something
2W cpu cant be more powerful than 20,50,100W..... when they are both built on 14nm
dont believe that GB is truly multi platform and multi architecture even
if you have a macos device do this run gb then boot camp to windows and run it again
is your scores same?
ps: again a11 is awesome just not as awesome as desktop cpu if you want more realistic comparison is something like atom x5 or some of the mobile pentiums at best

No doubt A11 is powerful.. But for me, my needed.., IOS is boring, less fun than Android.. But in the end of the day, it depend on your need, and which OS you prefer.. For me Android is the best, and generally for iPhone lover, IOS is the best.. No matter what OS, as long as you comfort and thinks easy to use, go on..

I'm an Android user and never use iPhones, but even when I'm trying out demo sets, iPhones in my opinion are totally lag free especially in games even for the smallest iPhone SE. This is the reason why people are still favor iPhones.

As far as I Know, snapdragon 845 will get at least 2600 points for single core. So it beats the Apple a9 processor. We can surely say that Android processor makers are 2 years behind the apple.
