Samsung creates a kid-friendly tablet for the Lego Ninjago movie

18 September 2017
The tablet internals are quite outdated, but it's stuffed with kid-friendly content.

Google should stop such nonsense.
A device to be released in 2017 with Android KitKat?
Okay, it's a retread of a 2015 device with a little more decoration to say the device is new.
But such a bizarre thing is.
(Let's agree that it took forever to get a successor to the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids, is not it? And why did not you use at least Galaxy Tab A 7.0 (2016) as your base? It would still be ridiculous but less worse than that !)
In this situation, Google should prevent even devices launched with Android Nougat, since Android Oreo is already on the market.

Nope. Just get an Amazon Fire 8 Kid's Edition. They're $130 brand new and you can sideload Google Play Services and the Play Store just fine. And if your kid ever breaks it, Amazon replaces it, no questions. Better storage, CPU, and screen. Or get the cheaper 7 inch model for $100. Still a better deal.

Spike1, 19 Sep 2017Hopefully they won't sell much to learn not to make crappy stuffTell me if so. what specs you're expecting? an ultra overclocked Snapdragon 835 at 3 GHz, 16 GB ram and 1 TB storage, with 4K display at 100$? be realistic!
at such price you can at most use the snapdragon 617, slap in some 3 GB of ram and keep a decent 32 GB storage.

I wouldn’t give an expensive tablet, or a personal one to my nephews. (Yes. I am not married. Yes. My brothers and Sisters have children) so it’s a wise move from Samsung.

It is for kids though. No 2 year old kid gonna care about their tablet not having the latest android nougat or oreo. For the record, there are no other manufacturer producing cheap tablet for children. Tablet market basically already dying. Not very wise to make a new model every year. That would be a waste of resource. The point of it being so outdated and cheap is that so parent wont have to worry if the tablet were to get damaged or lost. The cheaper the better. I wont entrust my personal real tablet or phone to a child. They press the wrong button and buy stuff with your credit cards to play games and you will be doomed with thousand dollars debt. As long as it serve the purpose of distracting the child and have fun playing kids games on the tablet it is good enough. Even if it have low resolution it wont damage child eyes if you only let them spend only an hour with it per day. All of you adult doesnt grasp the concept of parenting and introduction to technology for children at all. Does any of you even have real kids of your own before bashing this tablet?

Is it just Sammy's marketing tricks to sell all the left products in warehouse? The adults are moving on to more advanced tech remaining the old one for Sammy to attract children. Parrents better the Sony Xperia Z ultra lollipop 5.1 (it's a phablet tho) where your children can use any pen/cil to learn how to write, waterresistant and cheaper too

                              Just sayin'

For 120$ buy yourselves a Lenovo tablet or an Asus one. Both of them will be a better choice than this old revamped sht.At least you will get android 5.0 or 6.0 on them.
Kid friendly=Cash grabbing old chipset and bad quality screen. This isn't kid friendly nor budget friendly.

JMTM, 18 Sep 2017Parents... DONT DO IT unless its less than $150 better to ... moreIt's a Tab E Lite. It's 130CAD. So around 100USD. But it's really cheap. The display will damage the vision of the children using it (I tried it at Costco and the display is REALLY bad, cheap quality and low res of 1024×600)

Ultimate child's slate, but seriously it is waste of Samsung's resources, horribly outdated
