19 September 2017
The smaller model will reprise the pricing of its predecessor, but the bigger phone is getting more expensive.

Scattman, 20 Sep 2017Maybe for you. Here in Sweden the iPhone X (64 gb) goes for... moreIn India iPhone X cost around 1540$ for same model. I was talking about US pricing of iPhones which are quite competitive in it's local market.

Nexus was cheap up to Nexus 5. The 5X wasn't a true flagship like the 6P was.

If you go back to every Nexus from N1-N5, they all had glaring weaknesses. Galaxy Nexus had terrible battery life and weak SoC. Nexus 4 and 5 were also weak in battery life, display, and camera. Nexus 5 aged better than 4 thanks to the Snapdragon 800 and matte soft plastic finish.

The best phones during those years when it came to good battery life was the Note series. My Note 3 on Lollipop still performs admirably while my HTC One M7 on KitKat lags like if I had my Nexus One on Gingerbread. MKBHD doesn't seem to like the battery life on the Note8 though.

Nexus became overpriced by the 6. There really is no difference between Nexus or Pixel except Google has more control with how it should be made and with their branding and nobody else's.

The Nexus Line was amazing an... moreI don't agree, Google is doing it's job better, imagine if Google continue to cooperate with other OEM in order to produce the"Nexus" line devices, it's goodwill for its product will not be the same every time. For example, the design ,we all knows how much different between a nexus 7 and 6 and 5 . A good product requires a easily known impression for consumer.

Would love it if it had a black front, black upper rear, and red metal rear. Black and red would be awesome.

I believe Google won't change up the Pixel design until Generation 3 which is next year. Most companies change designs every two years. It's like with automobiles. Same foundation for that design for 4-5 years. You can only do so much with a slab design.

That's why no rush to get an iPhone X. Apple will likely milk that design for four generations like they did with the iPhone 6 series design.

At this point, for Android fans, Nokia 8 seems to be the most sensible choice. Flagship device for mid range price (mid range going by the prices of new google, samsung and apple flagships)

All i'm going to say is that they better have a few mind blowing features because stock android is getting boring. It was cool when you could get a Nexus and pay considerably less than the competition for a clean stock experience but now that the Google devices are about to be 1,000 dollars so the price better be justified somehow..

What's with the high prices all of a sudden?

                        iPhone X - 1000$
                        Note 8 - 1000$
                        Pixel 2 XL - 1000$

Just pray that midrange phones don't jump up to 700$ and 1000$ being a standard for flsgships

They surely beat Apple here. This thing manages to be even fuglier than the iPhone X and its Moto Droid Razr D3-inspired monobrow.

i just hope oneplus will go user friendly in terms of $$$
I always had a nexus device, starting from the very first Nexus One.
Then followed by a Galaxy Nexus and lastly a Nexus 5. I've sticked with the Nexus 5 untill this year. My nexus 5 was overheating and shutting itself off, hardware problem.
It was my best phone, it was the best phone ever.
I wanted to wait for the new nexus line because i didn't like the (5x/6P). I was hoping for a nexus device with a 5.3-5.5 screen to be launched in 2016/2017 but nothing. It really ended. So, with a little research i updated from a nexus 5 to a oneplus 5. Since it was the only worthy upgrade available right now. I love my oneplus 5 but i still find my nexus 5 awesome. Too bad it died or i would stick to it even longer
