PSA: Turning off Wi-Fi or Bluetooth from Control Center in iOS 11 doesn't actually turn them off

20 September 2017
Oddly enough, this is a feature, not a bug - if you want Wi-Fi or Bluetooth fully off, you need to go to Settings.

Sort by:

basically Apple wants to know every moment of the day where are you located or, considers the user to be "dumb" enough not to remember that it has turned off its wifi/ Bluetooth connectivity.....and I have a question regarding new user data protection law which will be be enforced in Europe starting May 2018: how is "face unlock" feature going to cope with that law meaning that face recognition will be stored on Apple (US servers) and not European ones?

This feature was developed in conjunction with the NSA

I used the iOS 11 beta and thought of it as a bug and now it is sold to us a feature.

I actually quite like the fact that it turns back on, I frequently turn off wifi (for various reasons) but forget to turn it back on and rinsing my data allowance.

This feature should prevent that to a large extrent.

i am dumping my iphone 6s as I can't stand apple with their "un-improvements" any more.
Lack of headohne jack, lack of working buttons, the only thing moving positive is pricing.

                        Hello Android!!!

There is no sense why apple put the wifi and Bluetooth in the notification center hence, it cannot be able to do its function that much. I hate it. I just updated my phone to IOS 11 now, im starting to regret in updating my phone. what else could be the error from new IOS that haven't discovered?
Apple please fix this. I love your phones.

PS1 Android users can use long press instead.
PS2 That force touch prevent them putting home button under the display so they make a big hole on the display for Face ID instead.
