All companies want to make money, if they can't then they go bust.
Even the poor shopkeeper at the bazaar, he needs to put food on the table so he needs to make a profit albeit a small one.
If a person has the money and they want to buy it then go ahead, otherwise what is the point in having so much money if you are going to live like a miser?

Or atlest they should bring down prises of their older generation iphones upto 40%
In INDIA iphone 8+ cost around 1100$ its huge rather 800$ s8 worth it

The funniest part about the iPhone X is that after a couple months (or in 2018), it would be possible to implement a Fingerprint reader underneath that OLED display.
So FaceID will become practically useless.
However, since Apple pushed for FaceID, then they won't really be able to take the feature away. So it means that the iPhone XS or 11 will have that ugly protrusion but won't need it. And for a device and ecosystem where design is paramount, this will be a horrible point of the overall product.

Why people hate iPhones is one they can't offer to buy it. Or else some hate Nokia saying that this not the one we knew years ago. Always there are some negative minded people who have something bad to say about. No matter what people who loves the brand they want to go with they will go with. We don't have any rights to criticize there wishes.

Seriously skip this entire generation, Tim Cook wouldn't know value if it were a deer in the middle of the road. Over a thousand dollars and still misses essential features even the janky Essentials phone has.

Why should anyone get the iPhone X, and for that price tag not get a fingerprint scanner. You're pretty much forced to use an unproven facial recognition software. All the iPhones this generation lack quick charging out of the box, another strike, as most competing flagships do offer these basic features out of the box.
Tim Cook wouldn't know value if it bit him in the jugular.
