Such people have no clue about how the day to day workings of the Indian state screech to a halt, got no idea of the malaise on the economy, readily slurp up all government (and ironically even anti-government) propaganda and are forever willing to live subservient to a ruling 'Master' political race. This is no personal dig against this Anon who got no gumption to post under a name, but to the general public of today's India. Or this user could also be leech grown fat under the establishment, that possibility too exists in dynastic, nepotistic, name-brand driven Indian politics.
Now to destroy this sad, sad person's arguments in as few words possible:
1)Google search Indian Apple prices, compare to US MSRP, few clicks and you got all the proof. Example:
iPhone8 64GB sells for 699 USD (~46,000 INR) in the US. Same sells for 64,000 INR in India.
iPhone8 256GB sells for 849 USD (~56,000 INR) in the US. Same sells for 77,000 INR in India.
These 2 being the latest of examples, I can fill this page with more examples from Apple, Intel, Nvidia, Asus, EVGA, MSI, Dell, LG, Samsung, EIZO, etc, etc, etc...Please anyone feel free to spend 5 minutes and Google the price comparisons of articles from the recent years.
2)Google the terms: "taxes rates comparison". Wikipedia (2nd link from my browser) has one of the most user friendly way of breaking this down, in simple words and backed by peer-reviewed and authenticated sources. On the comprehensive data table, use the titles to sort the "winners" out. India stands at 30% corporate tax (of which any mogul hobnobbing and with links with the politic class, pays only a single digit fraction of), 34.6% highest individual taxes (lower than many other countries) and a whooping 50% VAT or GST(the highest in the world).
3)This joker uses terms like "as far as I know". He doesnt know the J of Jack squat. Such people should really educate themselves on the facts rather than rant on about "feelings" which they replace facts with.
4)Please, do that Google search. Search for prices, tax rates, corruption in India, whatever that irks your fancy. If you have lived in India, beyond any short vacation period, a visit to any local government office will make internet searches on the matter pale in comparison though. This Anon user is such a hypocrite, if only he/she had done that Google search, they wouldnt have had to embarrass themselves so much by spouting all this nonsense.
5)Straw-man arguments touting growth numbers and the population. Mainly used by people who dont even know how to spell economics, leave alone understand it (ie majority of the Indian politicians warming the seats in Parliament and sheeple). For a Very short answer to demolish your dreamstate: The corruption bogs optimum growth down, money gets concentrated into the hands of the few, inflation, rise in unemployment exacerbated by unchecked population boom, increase in taxes to offset gains lost on systematic weak links, so on and so forth. Corruption in India is one of the primary reasons why that growth rate isnt in a steady double digit, why there is such a high degree of discrimination (both affirmative action and textbook racism) due to votebanks politics and no accountability of any sort in India.
6)I had my workstation components flown in from the US to India in late 2016. Leave all the economics aside, I as a consumer know EXACTLY how much money I saved by doing this. If I was to buy the system components from retailers in India, I would have paid nothing less than 1,20,000 INR EXTRA when compared to US MSRP in this joke market. After GST...that figure would have ballooned to 2,300,00+ INR.
But I know, low IQ sheeple will hammer away on the keyboard rather than even read my reply. If only these Indians would hammer away mails, notices, and help in hammering away of FIRs and PILs against their corrupt politicians...India would truly become a force to behold. This really saddens me though (no sarcasm here), because such a beautiful land like India is getting ruined beyond repair by the greed and ignorance of its majority :(

As far as i know Indians dont pay a thing as income tax and government implement consumption and luxury tax. Which I believe is great because unlike other countries people will have lot of savings not dept.
India is the most corrupt country in the world? how much of an idiot you are! Just do a simple google search, considering India represent around 1/7th of worlds population and there are 78 counties above India in corruption, and they represent over 60% of world population. So India's 1.3 billion people comes in lesser corrupt regions .
India is the fastest growing major economy in the world for few years now. I don't know you are gonna explain that, may be money is falling from they sky.

Buying electronics in India is a sin.
Look it up, India has the HIGHEST sales taxes/VAT rate in the world in the form of GST (a minimum of 28% taxes of base price tag on nearly all types of commonly used electronics, not including shipping costs and other duties) and some items are pegged at a mind boggling 50%!
Add to this retailer greed, the 1,00,000 INR midrange laptop being a good example, where retailers (mostly the online kind) keep a price tag of anything around 50% to even 500%+ more than the MSRP of the item is sold in the US because they dont have to answer to anyone. And bloated, incompetent leeches as elected representatives in the government who 1) dont curb retailer or hoarder induced inflation/daylight robbery, 2) encourage inflation and tax rate hikes because it translates to more taxes for them to award themselves with salary hikes with, 3) they can demand more bribes from said retailers due to higher profit margins (India is the #1 most corrupt country in the world based on frequency of bribing, regularity of giving/receiving bribes, lack of countermeasures against unlawful gains, corruption in highest levels of the government be it in private or in public sector and mere volume of money exchanged in the form of bribes every single day and in every single place).
If you have some stupid family/friend who is coming back to India, against his/her better judgement then have them purchase the stuff and bring it back with them. Otherwise you are only rewarding the most broken financial institution in the world.

But yeah that's as close to US price as you can get from Indian retailers on a gaming machine.
