Im getting bored with this "Shot on iPhone" crap. F*ck Apple, their camera will never replace a DSLR. Its just a good phone camera nothing more.

all things considered my old honor7 is still just as good as the new apple phone 8+, dont even mention how "fast" it is, what can you do with all this "power" on a small mobile device???? what do u use ur mobile for? texting/ whatsapp? taking photos?? mobile games ? (lol id rather play real games on a PC) any mid ranger will do all that just as good as a 1000+ USD phone

Apple and Google have huge software departments. Computational photography isn't something difficult for them unlike for Samsung, LG, HTC. With ever faster SoC Apple and Google phones will get better faster than Samsung, LG, HTC

Professional look, however, different with prpfessional results. I don't completely agree that this worth someone to pay them.
However, it is nice to have a good camera. For posting updates, this is a go. For professional camera work, definitely no.

And, in real life, he can't do nothing with that camera but only taking lame pictures, while he thinks about all those settings an DSLR has and compromising for all those money he gets from making iphones look something stellar. In the mean time, in reality in no better then any camera phone out their, if not slightly worse then others. I am yet to see a good photo taken by the average joe with his iphone.

or imagine a world of OUT-OF-WORK photographers. Why in 2017, would anyone PAY for something that is FREE. The last wedding I went to, there isn't even a professional wedding photographer (just her uncle), and the attendants were ask to upload all smartphone photo to a facebook share group. That is. No need to waste $4000 on a professional photographer. I hate to say it, but this is the TREND.

You can go check on the comments. Everyone seems surprised at the iPhone's ranking.

Not too convincing, too. Either Apple was too cheap and only wanted to pay for a third-rate wannabe photographer like this Austin Mann dud, or they didn't find any actual professional photographers who wanted to have their reputation ruined, and thus also their business ruined, by being associated with smartphone photography.
A web search revealed that this Mann dude has a history of doing ad campaigns for Apples iPhone cameras. It also revealed that, unsurprisingly, his photo business isn't going very well, so he's also working as a comedian XD

This "Portrait Mode" is nothing but a cheap software filter which could just as well work on previous iPhones, or Android phones. Nothing special about it. The iPhone just keeps a copy of the original photo around, so the Portrait Mode filters can be applied at any time later as well.
About the DxO Mark, I already had my suspicions, but this finally proves it. It was already very suspicious that whenever new phones were released, and the makers were serious about highlighting its camera, they would just shoot a huge load of cu... err, money, up those DxO guy's collective anu$es, and suddenly we have a new DxO record for some smartphone camera XD
If however the smartphone maker is unwilling to pay enough money for a good DxO review, then it will just end up getting a not so good review, as has just happed with the Xperia XZ Premium.
As such, DxO reviews are just paid advertisements and shouldn't be taken any serious.
The photo quality comparison you can do on this site is a far more accurate indicator of camera quality.

Another thing, what is a need of coming to India for testing iPhone 8plus camera?
I am not a hard core fan of Sony, but same time I m not a blind lover of iPhone either.
Just open your eyes and try to see the truth. May be their camera is the best but let actual user reviews it. They are just creating hype to grow their sell.
Anyway it's your view and this is my understanding.

Its being converted to sRGB so the website can display the image. Even GSMA will do the conversion for the same reason when they do their review.

Goto admit the samples has all been pretty good. Now to wait next year for others to do it better :D
