People think others just change smartphone... moreIn my third world country, and smaller than average town, vivo/oppo sales 70+ devices every month, still less than Samsung's and Xiaomi's individually. Nobody uses a smartphone for more than a year these years, unless some people who's beloved company not making any phones anymore

THK, 26 Sep 2017Is there any Nexus phone that didn't have any hardware issues?Mhhh i would say the Galaxy Nexus. But since the nexus 4, the quality has been degrading significantly. I had my nexus 5 for 4 years until it started to restart itself and overheating to the point is restarted again. I was thinking about buying the 6P but jesus christ, that phone is even worse.
I waited, 3months without a working phone i went to the oneplus 5 device.
Best decision ever.

Android fanboys trying to justify why security and OS update is bad. I wonder if they also stop updating their windows machine and antivirus software because it slows down their computer. Android, security above all... LOL

AnonD-696124, 26 Sep 2017says who? only countries with carriers are willig to change... moreThat's so true!! People think others just change smartphones every 2 years, most people around the world expecially 3rd world countries hold on to a smartphone for longer than 3years, and that's why it makes sense for one to buy a smartphone that suits your daily needs and stick by it as long as possible. As for me am not that rich but I prefer to save money for sometime and buy a worthy flagship which I would hold on to it upto even 4 years!

Merwyn Fernandes, 26 Sep 2017For all the people saying that Apple supports old iPhones w... moreThat's the reality indeed. As per my experience with a Flagship phone (Nexus 5, turning 4 years this November), any device in the market whether Android\iOS can work atmost with 2 major updates. If you try to update it further (by means of rooting in Android) or if company is providing an update (like Apple, even beyond 2 major updates), then the device becomes laggy. It's true that Apple is updating its 4-5 years older devices, but then ask the users who are in that bracket. They would say, till 2 major updates my phone was fine, but after that it has become slow\laggy.
Google makes it simple in this case. Launch a flagship\Android One device and announce that it is going to get next updated to new OS for 2 years and 3 years of security patches.

For all the people saying that Apple supports old iPhones with updates for a long time are technically true
BTW with each update the older devices just become unusable and buggy
Don't know whether the hardware can't handle these updates ot Apple does it purposely so that the customer's upgrade to their latest device.

AnonD-145316, 26 Sep 2017And that's why I always give thumbs up to windows and IOS f... moreIt's nice that they do support their devices longer than Android-phones, it just sadly won't replace the absolutely horrific user-experience my parents have on Windows Phones.
The major problem is that the applications refuse to update (automatically or manually) themselves, even after the phones had been factory reseted. They also find the UI somewhat confusing to use - they aren't really into technology at all, but can use their Windows 10 -PC without real problems.
WhatsApp stopped to work for my parents last year, another software-reset helped to let the Store download then-latest version of the app... But it haven't updated it since, it only gets stuck forever. This can't be right how it's supposed to work, right?

Anonymous, 26 Sep 2017Google make it 3 years and gain the trust. Usually people w... moresays who? only countries with carriers are willig to change every 2 years. Poor country like mine, portugal we have to buy the phones full price. You don't see many samsung flagships around here. But you see lots of low-midrangers. The only people who buy flagship devices are those who are in love with technology and they don't buy samsung devices nor iphones. Here's it's all about Nexus (RIP), Oneplus, huawei mate 9, P10, Xiaomi Mi5, Mi6 (lots of xiaomis), Nubia's,... You rarely see an iphone around here and if so, it's probably an iphone 4 or iphone 5.
Gotta be honest, the most selling brand here is huawei

( in windows there is an update program known as insider program where you can update whatever device you have to the latest software, so I know what am talking about) And by the way windows 10 is the best OS that ever happened on a smartphone too bad Microsoft failed to pull more developers to it!! Pliiz just shut up with your lagdroid!!! It's always a satisfactory experience using IOS or windows 10 mobile, and by the way I own Lumia 950xl no phone in the market right now can come near that beast from camera to performance!!
