I think the fingerprint reader put at the home key is better, because it easier to unlock the phone

What Samsung has to understand is Midrange phones are also becoming close to flagship power of similar generation by sacrificing screen rendering lower range ui graphics etc. No problem with SD660 , its not for everyone who want power alone. Even if there is no Infinity display if the device is usable with one hand it will be a big boob so the current dimentions are perfect & it should NOT BR BIGGER. The waterproofing is super cool to have, the amoled displays of today show less color degeneration and enough visibility under varied lighting. The main missing things are a dual camera( mind it samsung even lenovo k8plus comes with dual camera). If no Dual camera it should provide the same camera Hardware from s7 because that has OIS and real good low light ability. The front camera should have an Autofocus with wide angle to have reasonable selfies. Increasing megapixels is really not needed. Increasing pixel density is never needed in a5. A good 3000 mah battery super good software integration and optimization for non laggy user experience with reasonable gaming @least @30fps is expected. OIS is mandatory for rear camera. Fast Charger can be included in the box and if SAMSUNG price it with a price of 25000 INR/ 400 USD/ 350 Euro. It can be thoughtful buy for many people. We always want some more performance because whatever the specs may be other than iphone ALL ANDROIDS tend to be laggy so a faster chipset means it can hold on longer. Samsung could try a chipset powerful close to SD 821 because the OP3 will be still on sale with that powerful chipset and always a no compromise buy. Previously samsung was a brand which was worth and people would have brought t Irrespective of specs but time has changed people know that smartphones like OP/ XIAOMI / HUWEI / Etc etc makes really good phones with stock android which is easier cheaper & more friendlier. BEWARE SAMSUNG throw off the badge Statistics and make reasonably good phones for the desired price.

Need a cheap A-series phone with a 6 inch screen or larger and rounded display corners with fingerprint scanner. Like the A9 pro with the rounded corners.

The 12MP cam used by Samsung has about 7mm just the sensor diagonal. It is a 1/2.5" sensor.
There is no space enough...
Probably new A 2018 will come with 8MP cam + f1.7.
It is not good enough for video calls. Nor even for outdoor group selfie somewhere bright..

On android 7 the phones with 820/821 easily goes more than 145k.
660 is only a bit stronger than 810.

-64 GB storage (I can live with 32 GB though)
-Fast Charging, Wireless Charging

-USB-C
-3200 MhA battery
-IP68 water and dust resistance
-MicroSD card slot
-3,5 mm jack
I've chosen the specs above with a realistic look for
a midrange device.

It has a beautiful AMOLED-screen, it's IP68 rated, simple but nice design. Also the camera is good, although it lacks OIS. I hope OIS is present on the A5 2018, then it would be a perfect midranger.

OIS in camera?? the chipset is important but for power and performance OP3/5 is always welcome. but midrangers need the smooth operation ,enough power ,lagg free experience even after 2yrs, good camera good display excellent battery life and good built smartphones. whatever hi-fi android it may be it will start to have glitches little lag etc after about 1year. If Apps like maps camera etc tend to lagg its horrible and dissapointing. Without OIS the camera is pure waste of technology.
