As an iphone user, we can now understand the mysteey of all that media hyped testing, we at home cannot, prove in our real life useage. Sad that, apple have their own phone and own Os, with all their meticulous planning, and experience, only to end up at this. That Note phone not only, smokes mine, but looks a better screen and item, without the ugly notch we all just grin and bear as an elephant in the room. Kudos to Samsung here, next year, I won't take second place again.

anon, 02 Oct 2017I'm waiting for the test of the iPhone X against the Note 8... moreThe "iPhone X uses the same chipset as the 8 Plus and has an equal amount of RAM". It's likely clocked a tad higher, but has more pixels to push. Then again, real usage experience is what should count. As a Note8 user, I'd guess Apple will have an edge, as they own their OS.

oneplus 5 just launched yesterday a new update 4.5.11 which they say it opens Apps faster and some other improvements.
I didn't update yet but i'm curious to see how fast it opens games since that's the struggle oneplus 5 is having right now

but in real life it samsung will always loose - will take time to take pic , take time to open any app. But iphone don't have such lags. I am s8 user and trying to sell for best price.
People using samsung premium phone get used to such lags - thats pathetic.

Effecting at least two or three models of iphone. That apple claimed only effected one.
Where it was bending was also near fragile internals for controlling the display. And they moved from a sturdy metal shielding in that area to something like film or cheap plastic.
Yeah....They are nothing but the definition of quality......

So they touch would stop working, lines would be in the display, and other issues.
It took them 2 years to finally admit it was an issue. And people were having to pay for repairs. Of course they silently fixed the cheap protective area in the next iphone...But it wasnt an issue. Then it only effected one phone. And when they finally admitted it was an issue....Even though they fixed the design flaw in later models....It was only brought on by careless users. Usually from dropping it. It was not apple's fault or a design flaw that created issues. Just careless users.
So as a show of good faith you could get the repair done for half off............
And if you could prove you paid for the repair from a year or more ago you could be reimbursed the half......
                      What a joke company.

Samsung straight up denied everything. It wasn't until airlines started prohibiting it that they took some action.
On the other hand, even though Apple said you're holding it wrong, they gave free cases to everyone. I have had a macbook pro since 2 years now. The coating on the screen started coming out due to some reason some weeks ago and guess what happened. They did not even ask me a single question and straight up replaced the screen for free. I did not have Apple Care, and my laptop was out of warranty. My friend had bought an iPhone 6 when it came out. It had a display problem and they replaced the phone without asking a single question. Even he did not have Apple Care. This is how the Apple customer service reacts.

I admit even I was getting tired of the iPhone's small screen so I switched to android and bought an Samsung Galaxy S3 when it came out and it was a sensational phone. However, within two weeks of the purchase, I started seeing lines in the camera pictures. When I went to their care station they straight up denied servicing the phone even though my phone was in warranty. They tried everything they could to tie it to a physical user damage but they couldn't. After hours of convincing they took my phone for only a camera replacement. It took them more than a week and they did not even provide me with a replacement phone. I sold the phone as soon as I got it back and have never switched back to an android since.

This is the real difference between the two families. I suggest you do some actual research before commenting.

Yeah, Apple is well known for making shoddy products with defects and for acting like a$$holes blaming the users for the defects (You're holding it wrong!) and making excuses instead of acting honorably and taking the blame for it (At least Samsung had the decency to accept they made a mistake on the Note7 and recalled it despite the PR nightmare).

Exploding Samsungs are an example of this, too many were happening to be ignored, which later proved to be a design flaw.

If more iPhone 8 units come out with this behaviour, then it will need to be looked at in detail. As it is, Apple is already looking into it.

Why no news here regarding Iphone 8 explode while charging just after 3 days in hand.. 1 case in Japan & 1 case in Taiwan..

They were one year ahead of everyone else moving to ARMv8 (64-bit) and they have kept that distance.

And its definitely a bad sign that they can't get more out of this iPhones hardware than last years model... But my point was that Apples CPU would without a doubt work very well for Android also, especially the A11 which can use all cores at the same time. It more powerful in every way that the Snapdragon 835 for example.
