HMD official confirms Nokia phones will get Oreo by the end of 2017

The real Nokia is long gone. Former Nokia N8 user here. Nokia no longer seems to have their exclusive advanced technologies they used to have during the Symbian days. HMD is just cashing in on the Nokia name. It's good, these Nokias would get Oreo update but what's so special in stock Android. Nothing.

      Hey there ,can I ask a question . I bought Nokia 6 (ta-1000) as you imagine it has not got any updates since day 1 the queston is if i want to update it manually do I have to install every security patch (monthly) or to go right ahead on the september security atch . My phone is currently on 1st may update. Please help :)

          Good news, my advice to the Nokia Dev's however would be to prioritise the camera software....at least on the 8.

          It's practically impossible to get a clear shot on this thing, shot time is slow (painfully so if you use the dual rear sensors), the portrait mode leaves weird artifacts in the fine details of shots, and the app is sorely lacking in basic features like exposure compensation and such.

          It's bad enough that I am considering a return, as this camera at the moment is terrible.

            I love the dedication that HMD is putting on the Nokia brand. If they'll continue to provide updates that other manufacturers can't, I'd buy Nokia soon. I just hope they'll polish the design. Physical buttons are already a thing of the past
