How is Sony supposed to sell for 450 ?

I would just change battery size. Battery life seems to be good, but 3000mAh would be great.

The screen, design, processor, and camera are good.
The battery is "okay".
Even the bezel/Screen to Body ratio is not a deal breaker.
What is a deal-breaker is the price!
This thing should be competing against the OnePlus 5 at the $499 price bracket.
At that point, the XZ1 is a good offering. Its a shame Sony will do their usual failure of a job of selling an okay device at an iPhone-like overpriced markup... and after the product flops, reduce the price to an acceptable level 10 months later. It's happened with almost each Xperia Z flagship.
I could see them charge $699, the going flagship cost, only when they:
- reduce the bezels (>75% StB), inflate the battery capacity (>3,400mAh),
- improve the drivers for the camera (>Pixel performance),
- increase the power of the stereo speakers (>ZTE Axon 7) and include a fast charger and cable out of the box (>Galaxy S8).

HDR Display
UFS 2.1 Storage
Very good battery backup( could be better but 83h is vgood)
960 fps slo-mo, 3d creator
All @ $700 in most (if not all) countries which is cheapest for a non Chinese flagship phone.

It’s just okay. Decent, at least. The compact version is what’s really hot. Bezels are here to stay but I’ll take front facing stereo speakers over a bezel-less front without even thinking.

How can this phone be hot, when it's ridiculously similar to its 15 or more predeccesors that Sony manufactured?

SZtadir, 01 Oct 2017The design is amazing, but bezels could/should be smaller. ... moreIn my country, since z5 flagships get about 50% cheaper after one year.
Z5 was $4300, then 1900 after XZ was released.
XZ was $4000 , now it is $2200.

The design is amazing, but bezels could/should be smaller. Since QHD is standard, they should had included that. Everything else is fine. Of course, camera is not the greatest, which at this point seems intentional.
I miss the days of Sony Ericsson. People used to borrow my phone to take pictures because Cybershot was all the rage back then.
One thing I have noticed though is - the value of Sony xperia phones do not fall as quickly as some other brands. For example, I have been trying to buy a backup phone and I want Xperia XZ. But XZ still costs 400$ while LG V20 (which was released at the same time) now costs 300$.
