Hamburger, 02 Oct 2017I would like to see co. implement flexi 3D camera instead u... moreDude, 3DTVs are dead. It's been years there aren't any 3DTVs in stores and no new 3D content available. Even in games, the 3DS being the exception, have gave up 3D displays because people didn't buy the idea.
So if you want 3D pictures, you will need a 3D phone screen and 3D cameras, which are available on an old LG Optimus 3D Cube ( http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_optimus_3d_cube_su870-4545.php ) or a Nintendo 3DS. The latter is a better choice because you can buy new ones and there is a lot of content available for it. Also, HW support is top notch. The 1 year warranty covers almost everything for free, even shipping.
But 3D is dead. Much hype, but too many limitations had it die.

I like LGs setup best. Probably the most useful... Now i wonder who will be the first to implement a wide, standard and telephoto lens all in one device??! Lol

The monochrome Leica used to be the best application of dual-cameras back when phone cameras were good-but-not-great in the era of the Galaxy S5 and iPhone 6. However, now each generation this approach becomes more and more useless as the actual Phone's Camera tech makes improvements and also due to HDR+.
I feel like the extra-camera is wasted when used ONLY Ultrawide shots.
The telephoto is at least useful for the 3D/Bokeh effect.
So I think in the near-future we should see these two different approaches merge together.
One camera will be a big Ultrawide lens for close up action.
The second will be a big Telephoto lens for lossless zooming in at least x3.
They will both have big apertures and OIS, and HDR+.
I believe Samsung would probably be the first to go this route, with maybe the Note 9.
Possibly followed by LG, and then Apple.

Most of these options can be create or edit with software and there is no need to pay extra just for numbers

I would like to see co. implement flexi 3D camera instead using 2 cameras.
The cameras can be either single cam mode, dual cam ultra wide, or dual cam 3D. Since many TVs today support FHD 3D, the 3D images can be in that compatible format for ease of viewing.
The ultra wide mode is also useful for tall building shots.
I don't like the current dual camera implementation. The secondary cam is very sucky to the point of being useless. Restricted usage in low light? Pppfffttt.... pathetic!

I like the dual-camera setup on my Mate 9, it's cool. Also owned the HTC One M8 back in the day and it remains to be the very first phone I regret buying and was happy to get rid of it. Nice article, though. :-)

Very good article!
The wide angle one is the one that's really worth my money. Still a shame that they put the two cams on the back. Selfies are made easy (probably, because I haven't had a phone with Dual selfie setup) with Dual camera on the front.
Just a side note: Some Chinese manufacturers use a dummy lens on the second sensor. So, it doesn't affect the pictures quality (positively nor negatively) because it doesn't really work. The Doogee Mix is known to have a dummy second camera sensor!
So, what out when you buy from these Chinese brands!
