The reason I could afford any phone out there, including the overpriced iphone & Samsung phones is because I don't waste my time foolishly trying to "keep up with the Jone's". Gotta have the newest trendy crap, just because everyone else has got to have the newest trendy crap. Gotta wear the "right" clothes, gotta drive the "right" car, got to go to the "right" coffee place and on and on...why? Because everyone else does it. I've never been a follow the leader, which is why I've got money in the bank, a fantastic credit score and zero debt.

His worries seem more alligned to something like what Google did in getting rid of their Nexus line in favour of realeasing the Pixel, although in this case more gradual.

In day to day activities , I found no difference between Samsung S8 and my Lenovo P2. Instead Lenovo P2 lasted longer. But still we pay higher and higher prices for more and more powerful phones launched every year. Do we really need phones more powerful than S8+ and iphone X? But we will still next phones launched by big brands. It is for this reason that mobile phone business has become biggest business in the world.

It's far too soon to bring out a new Oneplus device already. Just got the oneplus 5 myself and I want them to keep their focus on it .

Just bring back the 3T design with 5.5 display, and the back should look exactly like Xiaomi Mi 6. No more cheap looking uni-metal body or that bezelless nonsense.

It's totally meaningless to manufacture a 6-inch display. It will not work in everyday use.
My wife has a 3T and it's also big screen.

i am having OP3T i skipped OP5 coz there were no need of upgrade
they should made the phone IP68 certified clean design, OIS in Back Cameras, slightly bigger screen like 5.7, no need to add curved or infinite display, it will gonna cost more, beef up battery a bit, make the phone more rugged, then it would be perfect

I don't want a freaking bezeless display. I want a fingerprint sensor on the front so I can unlock the phone without picking it up, I want curved glass to go away so I can use a glass screen protector again it doesn't need to be thinner. Leave my headphone jack alone and allow me to use one of the dual sim slots for a SD card. Waterproofing would be cool and quit cutting the damn connection so I can use fm radio on my phone. I am beginning to think that I am going to have to start looking at mid range phones to find the features I want and get rid of the gimmicks. I don't need to squeeze it, I definitely don't want a phone made out of glass they are running out of ideas.

bezeless 6" oled is a must, but OP should step up with quality audio dac and stereo front speakers.

And, it will come with another feature, found on EVERY smartphone in the past few years...HIGHER price for not much "benefit". Phones are fast enough, bright enough, THIN enough...heck, even MORE than enough, "sleek, stylish & colorful" enough but they will continue to inflate the price EACH year until consumers say THAT'S IT, NO MORE.
But as long as consumers continue to pay higher and higher prices, can't blame the companies for continuing to increase the price.

Anonymous, 02 Oct 2017larger than 5.5inch screen size will be unusable unless one... moreI have Samsung A9 Pro and very happy with it. Further 18:9 ratio is a must if you go for 6 inch display. It goes without saying that OP should get rid of ugly bezels which outdated and are useless.

Oneplus should beef up with all glass body like the Oneplus X and IP68 waterproof and dust protection. Metal frame design and Oneplus logo in chrome. 5000 mAh battery life and a 22 megapixel camera. Oneplus 6 should also come with a unlocked bootloader out of the box too.

AnonD-646774, 02 Oct 2017It is high time OP gives its customers larger screen option... morelarger than 5.5inch screen size will be unusable unless oneplus provide 18:9 display. even 5.5inch phones with normal bazels are huge and remember one thing they can never increase the battery as per screen size due to space constraint and slimness of phones. so the bigger the screen the worse the battery will be. so be careful what you wish for.

It's like headphone jack, they are just deleting it. And next will probably be sim card, Apple is already studying that for 2-3 years on how to implement it.

One plus can upgrade the cameras. Dual camera with 2 x OIS. Improve image processing algorithm. Even old Sony 21MP sensor can benefit from OIS on both cameras. Or go crazy using that Nokia 41MP sensor with 2 x OIS Zeiss lens! HAHAHAHA~~
