What would be MORE revolutionary is if OnePlus stuck with the 16:9 aspect ratio AND reduced the bezel size.
Imagine if they decided 5.5 inches was their "perfect" size, then we could potentially see a phone with the dimensions of: 134 x 73 x 7.9mm.
While the Screen to Body (Bezel) Ratio is a cool 85%.
That's about as big as the iPhone 8, without wasted letter-boxing, and not extra-long!!!
And in those 6mm wide bezels on either side, they could manage to squeeze in the front cameras and front speakers to boost audio-video quality!
And in those extra thickness I gave it to ~8mm's, which is still very thin, they could eliminate the camera bump which will prevent the lens getting scratched and cracked.
And they could use the breathing space to increase the battery capacity from the good 3,300mAh to an impressive 4,000mAh unit, which should translate into an additional 20% battery life. Or basically extending this 2-day (battery life) phone into a 3-day phone. Thanks to using an OLED screen with a great resolution of 1080p, that helps performance and increases battery life/efficiency.
The Home button can be relegated to Stock Android's on-screen Nav Bar, no surprises.
Whereas the fingerprint sensor could be placed in the back, or better yet, in the front underneath the display using Qualcomm's new scanner. The facial and iris scanners do not work well... not from Samsung, not from Apple, not from Google.

It's because of bezels. They realized that small bezels and jello-effect screen will not sell the OP5, so the OP6 will probably be a proper phone with small bezels and no hardware issues.
