Sony really doesn't care about selling Xperia phones. It makes all its money from selling cameras, camera sensors, Playstation, music and movies. Xperia phones are a minor distraction, a 'me too' signal to the market.
Its software strategy is also stupid. Killed off TrackID, then in the last moments urged existing users to switch to Shazam. Xperia Lounge - totally redundant. Horrible camera image postprocessing. Very poor default keyboard, and for some reason no Korean language input.

I'm not an Apple fan nor am I an Apple user, I'm a Sony fan and I'm using the Xperia X. As a Sony fan I feel ashamed that Apple can make a better camera in a phone (iPhone 8). I hate how Sony hasn't improved the camera quality in any significant way since 2014. I am not basing off DxOMark's score, I'm comparing real 4K footage, low light photo samples, and daylight photo samples taken on both and Sony is almost half a decade behind. The XZ Premium crushes black details and smudges up textures like oil paintings, and looks like a mess at night, its hideous. DxOMark after retesting all phones has come up with a very accurate conclusion, XZ Premium and other Xperia flagships lag behind their competition in camera quality (only due to software, not hardware).

No improvement in camera no improvement rather decrease in battery..i changed from z1 to z2 to z3 to z3plus .now gone to s7..bye to sony. Camera has never improved in xz premium too .so switched to s7.if huwai 10 or lg v30 or iphone x choice is based on battery and camera i will switch in January.never to sony

Now guess how Apple suddenly got such a high in DxOMark. Regarding to the design, you apple fans are criticizing Sony's repetitive design?? lol

Apple's camera quality is now way better than Sony's, Apple's 4K recording and low light performance shits on Sony's. Even Samsung's phones have better camera quality now. Its a shame that other companies using Sony's sensors can do better than Sony. Camera quality is suck in 2014, there hasn't been any significant improvement since the Z3 (XZ Premium and XZ1/XZ1C are still shit). Also that same boring ugly design, I was expecting Sony to make a big change in 2017 but NOPE, they haven't changed shit and they price a more outdated product even hire LOL, that's simply a formula for losses and bankruptcy. The rumors I'm hearing about Xperia Mirai, if they are true, I hope the change is big, because no other company needs to change as much as Sony in this generation and age.
