Anyone notice that 18:9 phone's left and right bezels are bigger than regular 16:9 phone.

For the uninformed, the Pixel XL 2 actually has larger bezels than the Pixel 2.
It’s just that some of the bezels on the XL model are covered/hidden by the top layer of display. No doubt, this is very deceptive to most buyers and GSMArena readers.
When watching a YouTube video, the smaller unit will give you 5.00 inches of 16:9 video.
Whereas the much larger XL unit, will barely bump that up to a 5.47 inches of 16:9 video.
Effectively you are getting a larger phone with a larger display.
You are not getting a equal-or-smaller phone, with a larger-or-equal display.
The Bezel’s thus have NOT been shaven off, but deceptively hidden under the guise of an uncommon aspect ratio. It’s not even 21:9 Movie Standard Ultrawide (which is actually not very common, and a pretty bad ratio, but I digress).

all it needs now is a big battery and good practical gestures and it would be perfect.

Sigh.
I want one. I need one.
But damn I can't justify the money.
This $150 Nextbit does what I need. Maybe it needs to b accidentally dropped from a great height. But even, a phone a third of the price of an 2XL would do the job for me.
But I want one.

Looks OK. Like the g6, a bit turned off by the slightly noticeable uneven bezels, no headphone, not a fan of the back, absurd price. Just ok.

Badly needs a trimmed price tag, too.
The Pixel and Pixel XL have sold a fraction of what they could have, given the silly launch price and ludicrous lack of price cuts since.
