Huawei teases 4,000mAh battery for the Mate 10

05 October 2017
It's certainly going to one up the flagship competition, which rarely strays above 3,500mAh.

If there is no oled or amoled display so it no use of that big 4000mah battery now looks like kirin 970 uses 4cores cortex A75 and 4cores A55 runs on 10nm process

AnonD-625430, 05 Oct 2017Even if you put a 10,000 mAh battery, it wouldn't last more... moreTry out the Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro then, it's got a massive 5000 mAh battery. It can also fit two sim cards *and* a sd card, which is very rare.
First battery that really satisfies me. Mate 9 was close, but not quite enough.

At least good to hear they didn't downsize the battery for the Mate 10. After they switched to that horrible gaunt 18:9 ratio, and next introduced that gross excrement brown colour, it really needed some good news.

          Note 5 = 3000mah, Note 7 = 3500mah, Note 8 = 3300mah, Samsung going UP and DOWN

          iPhone 6+ = 2915mah, iPhone 7+ = 2900mah, iPhone 8+ = 2691mah, Apple going DOWN and DOWN

          Mate 1 = 4000mah, Mate2 = 4000mah, Mate 7 = 4000mah, Mate 8 = 4000mah, Mate 9 = 4000mah, Mate 10 = still 4000mah

It's about time it went up dont you think? at least Huawei never decrease the capacity like Apple

But battery c... moreThat will be something one will be on the look out for with the Mate 10...hopefully reviews will give us a clear picture. I Hope Huawei has rectified that issue...they must have, if they are tooting battery endurance for the Mate 10.

Noel, 06 Oct 2017I have never rooted a phone before and don't even know how.... moreHow the hell would you brick an Android phone by rooting it?! Flashing recovery or ROM maybe, just installing SU and such, it's just a user, WTF.

The publisher, 06 Oct 2017Root! I have never rooted a phone before and don't even know how..maybe too scared to try and probably brick my shiny new phone. How stable will that be anyways?
I wish OEMs will start giving buyers two option on initial boot up...either Stock or the OEMs skin/UI.

Even the Huawei Mate 9 have 4000 mAh battery. But battery capacity doesn't matter, it's the battery life that trully counts. Even tho the Mate 9 have a larger battery than the competition, it's battery life is mediocre compared to other 2016's flagships.

AnonD-689121, 05 Oct 2017I really wonder why there are no flagship phones with 5000+... moreHave you seen the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom? That comes with a 5000Mah battery which itself is very impressive, but not the phone. The phone seriously lacks a good camera. The saturation, contrast and noise levels are all out of proportion and is a big turnoff. The phone is beautifully designed with a 5000Mah battery in a slim housing. If the thicker and heavier bodies for the beefy batteries are the excuses for the Apple,Samsung and LG, They must take a lesson or two from the ASUS. Good to see that some of the smartphone makers are getting out of the secret league by going for the 4000 Mah batteries. Man, If I wish today for a phone to have 5000Mah battery and an expandable storage, That would be the Google pixel XL. Bottom line: "Not all the five fingers are same"

Most people unfortunately only care about thin phones over long battery life. I would personally love to have thicker phones with BIG batteries rather than as thin as possible, but I guess the common trend is too different compared to my thoughts.

I was actually kind of afraid that Huawei were going to follow Xiaomi and Motorola in slashing down their battery capacity. It's good to see at least one company not following one of the dumbest trends of the year; I'm pretty sure most users want companies to take advantage of more efficient SoCs by providing greater battery life; instead, they seem to think that they should "compensate" for the efficiency by shrinking the battery, as if battery life is completely perfect already. I'll never understand this line of thinking.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Active should be released globally. It's time to end that AT&T exclusivity. That juicy 4000mAh battery will last all day long.

No, this phone is not going to one up the competition. All the Huawei Mates before had a battery this large and they also didn't.

The race now is between the Pixel 2XL and Mate 10...i must also add the V30 cuz it is an awesome device despite my being less enthusiastic about 18:9AR screens.
If the Mate 10 came with stock Android...that would've made my buying decision a lil easier. But the Pixel 2XL has really giving me much to think about despite the 18:9AR screen and the battery being smaller than that of the Mate 10...tho not by much. Hmmm decisions decisions.
What is the best way to "STOCK-ify" a Mate 10?????
