I used to use a 2013 lg nexus 5. A couple of months ago I was forced to find a replacement and the choices where Google pixel, One plus 3T , Galaxy s7, xperia XZ, lg g5 and HTC 10. The pixel got eliminated because of the price and it's looks. The S7 ..well there just wasn't a suitable one on the day. The xperia XZ the audio isn't loud enough, the g5 well that's just for someone who can't have an S7. So I got the the HTC 10 as the 3T has had latency issues in gaming. The HTC 10 has a low latency screen and it also has a 24bit dac for the audio. To start with I was a bit worried that the screen might disappoint but that was put to rest as it really is the best LCD 5 screen I've ever used. Performance is fluid with no noticeable lags or stutters and I'm so glad I don't have to use that ugly white app drawer that was on my nexus and the pixels. And the other thing..a micro SD slot, how I've missed that. Audio is very impressive ..not saying its the best as the lg v10/20/30 and certain versions of the g6 have their own dac/quad dac and can't find a site that compares the HTC 10 against the lg equivalent. The only pixel I would consider getting is the pixel 2 XL but there's no headphone Jack..so we'll see about that one..a shame as it really is a good package.. But again, is it worth the asking price? Oh and thats the other reason for picking the HTC 10 , because it was £100 cheaper than the cheapest pixel.

Quad dac is something very nice ( mine dont have it.. damn canadian version )
Pixel 2 come with 18 wt high speed charger in box ( same as my LG G6 came with )
Pixel 2 have a 128 version ( the one i want to get in fact as i am tired of been limited for my games and yep 64 gb not enuf and most game wont support to be move to SD )
Love my wide lense on my G5 and G6 but i can sacrifice that for overall quality ( i take lots of video )
So its really a question of needs..
for me its funny its the 128 gb of onboard memory that might make me do the switch.

no 3.5mm jack sucks but having the higher price does seem that they are targeting people who already or are willing to spend a pretty penny on wireless audio solutions. The pricing of it is pretty darn high and i don't agree with it compared to say the v30. hardware is great and unique compared to the competition in my opinion. I don't see a problem with bezels on both devices. normal 2 has big bezels but handling won't be hindered as much as it seems and the 2 xl still has a solid screen to body ratio, it also has front facing speakers which the competition doesn't.

It’s too trying to hard to be like Apple,it’s quite sad. Removing the head phone jack was an obvoious move that they are copying Apple. Way too expensive. Apple once again forcing its competitors to make moves. Jokes on them.

Google came a long way with Android, next thing is to establish mobile brand that's holding value as synonym for quality (ring any bells ?), even if their margin is nothing to talk about. They can handle the loss, no worries.

its always better to get iPhone if you are spending so much money. iPhone is faster, safe. Android phone is like "get used to lags" and then try to prove its fast and better by showing cores/RAM/PPI etc.
Real fact is none of android phone is capable of real auto bright - some horrible algo works there, in recent app cannot swipe two app with two finger at the same time(- so multitouch is far worse - try ), any app is worse in android.
So if you are out of budget get cheap android - or else get iPhone - otherwise you will regret..
I am a unhappy Galaxy s8 customer - even camera opens after a lag. I cannot take phone if I need - Galaxy S user already know this (if you see people give good comment on g8 - believe me they are either idiots or does not own s8 )

I love the new Pixel. After watching actual launch, I like the eco their building and all the great practical things these creative team is doing. To get a handle on all that is exciting. Much more than aesthetics alone, yes from me. People talk about price, well I like apple too but for $1400aud, it's a definitive no. This year it will be for me out of Pixel or Nokia 8 or 9.

pixel is an overpriced piece of hardware trying to compete with apple by making it's customer pay for everything. 3Y support is great tho.
But paying nore than 500$ for a phone is just plain overkill.
For 500 the only phone i had a choice in my country was an old LG G5, a samsung A5..
So i've gone thro internet and found a beautiful 500 dollar phone of the name of Oneplus 5.
And don't regret it till now, what a fantastic phone

As some users are pointing out the Pixel is a good phone due to the camera and guaranteed and fast updates during 3 years. But it's not a good value for money, especially if you care about audio quality

After I discovered Axon 7 an year ago (US version), I must say a unlocked 2 SIM device it's a must. Also, the 5.2" Pixel is to small, and the 6.0" is to big.
Not to mention the lack of 3.5 mm jack, sd card and a terrible price.
