Other makers are making better phones for the price AND obviously the Pixel 2XL is incomparably better than the other Pixels, but still horrible value for money and would never buy it.

Just got myself a pixel XL 128gb for £400 brand new. To pay £900 for the new version is insane. The pixel 2 XL is even bigger than the first, which is already waay too big. They need a iPhone X or s8 design and footprint to charge such prices. However everything else is top notch. They need to work on design and ergonomics solely!

I think it's a hard choice between the Google Pixel 2XL, iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and LG V30.

All things considered I think the Pixel 2 XL is my favourite phone (despite SD card, wireless charging and headphone jack) because of the software experience, form factor (minimum bezels with stereo speakers) and camera.

However, there is no way in hell I'll pay $950 for it. I'll probably just get the Xiaomi Mi7 for $200-300 with similar specs 6 months after it's launch in 2018, just like I did with the Mi5s(which is identical to the first Google Pixel).

Good thing is my favourite part about the Google Pixel (the software) can always just be sideloaded onto flagship Xiaomi phones :P They all have stock Android Oreo ROMs already

                - NO SD card slot (I don't want to use your spying cloud service, not to mention the advantages of the slot)
                - NO IP68 or MIL waterproofing (unacceptable for it's price range or for every phone over 500)
                - NO 3.5mm jack (I have a 1000 euros pair of gold plated wire headphones - do you expect me to throw them away or what ??)

                Conclusion --> NO!
I'd rather use an older Sony or Sammy flagship that has everything i need

                NEXT!

Apple has set a dangerous precedent with the removal of headphone jack.

Perhaps android hardware manufactures should ask the public before copying apple's lead.

the most 3 important points for me to back to android
                    1. fussily OS without any additional option like others
                    2. continuous updating the system and faster without determine your location as Apple Phones .
                    3. cheap prices than others but this time is expensive but its ok for me ..................
                    4. not mutter for SDcard Slot if it available a big storage sizes.

The XL model made by Lg looks good and I like how Google implemented the 2 stereo speakers, however Google should have included the 3.5 mm headphone jack instead of copying Apple here. Don't they listen to their fans???? Not everybody uses wireless headphones. I have used an adapter with my last phone htc u11 and I did not like it at all. Also the smaller model made by htc is not attractive with the big bezel. It will probably not sell as well as the xl model.

The new Pixel could've been great. But in my opinion, it's a flop. I'm actually more pissed about the headphone jack than anything else. But let's not forget that there's a huge difference between IP67 and IP68. IP67 amounts to little more than raindrop protection, it still can't go for a swim like the competition. They dropped the headphone jack and HTC still couldn't figure out how to water seal the phone. I could've lived with the ugly design if those other boxes were checked, but this is too much. Combine that with their outrageous pricing and it's time to look elsewhere.

Voted that the 2XL is better but overall does not mean that I agree with the asking RRPs.

The iPhone dilemma? Already arguable enough at justifying its price BUT:-
                                    1. Apple getting stronger every year now at going for full "vertical integration"; core components + peripheral designs, killer apps such as AR + the necessary SDK and dev support.

                                    2. There's proper official sales + services representation globally, physically and online. What about Google Store?

                                    3. An iPhone loses out a maximum of only 35 - 40% off its 1st day value in a 3 year usage scenario for resale value. I don't think Pixels depreciate the same rate yet. Probably a tad worse but that's expected.

                                    4. 1 thing I do not dispute where Apple deserve their full credit; A11 Bionic SoC. Own designed, down to GPU and still arguably the class leading SoC yet again. Pixel right now still uses an "off the shelf" part which is the Snapdragon 835. Mind you not that I'm being insulting, I fully appreciate what it can do but any other OEM on the planet can also order up and use the same SoC for their flagship as well.

So if I can't agree to pay the Apple tax even after the above listed, why should I pay Google's when they're nowhere near to answer any?
