Counterclockwise: two is better than one

Two cameras? Ha! Try two headphone jacks. Or two batteries.

Sort by:

two seperate internal storage would be a good idea.
one open, one encrypted.

    double smartphone perhaps.....

AnonD-427200, 08 Oct 2017how about a double sim card simply, cus i remember the day ... moreIt was the standard...they ruined that too. Now the standard is a sim slot and a hybryd slot.
I use two sim slots and have a 64 SD card with 64GB of music on it. So most phones are completely useless for me, unless they have 128GB of storage and that's still an expensive and rare option.

Ahh good old times when there was common sense and practicality/functionality actually mattered, and tech gadgets were tech gadgets, not jewels...

Fitbri, 08 Oct 2017I think I prefer one tidy, decent kick ass module like the ... more....the author explicitly said that the Pixel 2 AND THE iPhone X doesn't have even one:
"The iPhone X and Pixel 2 don’t have even one!" taken straight from the text.

Still, point stands that it's a completely stupid move to remove the jack. What benefit does it bring? Even thinner phone than it already is? At least not all manufacturers are jumping into that stupid trend.

I think I prefer one tidy, decent kick ass module like the new pixel with its slit lens and sensor. That said, a zoom lens could be good.

The writer here is bias, points out, oh, the pixel does not have a head phone. As if it's the only one. Apple doesn't either. At least on the pixel the c port you can hook up earphones and charge simultaneously.

I'll be keeping an eye on Nokia 9. Between Pixel, Nokia maybe HTC I'll be giving apple a miss this time around.

Anonymous, 08 Oct 2017What about 2 operating systems. Android and ios on one phon... moreYeah!! Two OS would be fantastic. I would want Android and Symbian to boot. Although BB10 may be better due to its backdoor compatibility with Android apps.

Anonymous, 08 Oct 2017What about 2 operating systems. Android and ios on one phon... moreOoh, that's a good one. There have been a few dual-boot phones (usually Android + Windows).

Would 2 small batteries work better than 1 big one?

                        Two is gimmickier than one.

Judging objectively, in most cases, the second one doesn't add anything further or make things more functional, its just not-so-tech-savvy-people just want more of anything.

Ditch front facing camera and add a screen on the back enough to use back camera as selfie camera that way you get quality photos, also possible for complete bezeless.

Dual Cameras come in different types, like depth sensor, monochrome, wide angle and telephoto. Out of them all, I like the telephoto implementation because well, it allows for optical zooming which is always better than digital zooming as there's no loss in picture quality. It's certainly a better implementation of dual camera technology in my opinion. But I think, dual cameras are pretty gimmicky. A single camera module can just work as good with the right kind of implementation, eliminating the need for dual cameras. Look at the Nokia 808 PureView, a beast in terms of camera performance. It smartly crops (read: zoom) in the picture due to the larger 41 MP Camera Module, delivering lossless digitial zooming, equivalent to optical zooming in 3 MP, 5MP & 8 MP mode. Hope Nokia releases a PureView Android with the same camera on the Nokia 808, that thing will show the incumbents how it's done.

3.5mm Jack is the most practical solution for listening to music with headphones on phones and other multimedia gadgets. You can use any headphones of your choice (variable sound quality) on multiple devices that support 3.5mm and you don't need to worry about charging your headphones which is the case with wireless headphones.. I really don't like charging too many things. You can even listen to music while your phone is on charge with 3.5mm Jack. It's not possible on phones which don't have 3.5mm unless you don't mind using a wireless pair of headphones. Phones aren't getting any slimmer anyway after the removal of 3.5mm Jack. Manufacturers are intentionally removing it for stupid reasons.
