As OnePlus 5 stock runs low, the likelihood of 5T increases

I really don't like this Idea by Oneplus. I think they should skip this Oneplus 5T and focus all their efforts on the OnePlus 6 next year. I think they should improve on this design and add features such as wireless Charging, IP68, stereo speakers etc. next year they will be tough competition in the smartphone space with LG G7, Galaxy S9, Huawei Mate 10. If they make this 5T they will have to change that design again for the OnePlus 6 and still try to remain competitive. And they are still a relatively small/new company. running low or out of stock is never a bad thing.

They should make a 5T with a unique design at a cheaper price.

SD836 is not released and delivery of SD845 is delayed until 2018 for other brands than Samsung... so what upgrades this so called 5T would offer?

Anonymous, 09 Oct 2017One plus 5T will be there bcz... 1. It's a direct copy of ... moreIt was the fastest selling cos of the amount of advertising done for it this time. Sales haven't sustained and the phone is plagued with issues. The users of 5 don't give a glowing endorsement of their phone like the 3 and 3T users. And bcos they r a flagship only company they r indeed competing with Samsung. S8 is not much pricier than a OP5 now so OP is not giving the vfm that they used to do with their previous flagships.

You got to trim down the bezels or it looks like an old phone. I could see them rushing a new screen into the market.
I don't want "no bezels" either. Just don't be wasteful with them. What the Pixel 2XL does is fine.
And work on that camera firmware. It matters.

Anonymous, 09 Oct 2017First of all, why would they name the successor 5T? Is the ... moreMaybe because it's the same SD835, with probably the same internals as the OP5, only with a taller screen and (maybe) revised camera module. It remains to be seen what is OnePlus choice, severely improve camera quality or just lower price to remain competitive (do recall the Galaxy S8 is now in the same price bracket).

So now all the phone makers are going to make their phone look like just same ?
All we wanted was a phone with small bezels not phones with ultra thin or no bezel.

First of all, why would they name the successor 5T? Is the number 6 another Chinese superstition they need to avoid?

Anonymous, 09 Oct 2017Fans like you won't take it well if they reduce the price? ... moreOk, so we have different understanding of fans. From what I understand Fans do not wait for prices to fall and those brands which keep reducing prices after launching something at high price fail to maintain fans base. I am OP fan and I bought OP5 at launch. I would not like if OP decide to reduce the price after many bought it at launch price.

I know sales are not up to the mark coz there are just too much scheme and too much advertising on OP5 at least in india. You never invest heavily in advertising for depleting stocks. Your scope of thinking is very narrow. Try to think from different perspectives.

1. It's a direct copy of an iphone 7 but with an improved design, some liked it, some didn't, it's a matter of preference.
2. Sales were discouraging? you're kidding right, it was the fastest oneplus phone to be sold ever. There's no stock whatsoever it means, everything got sold out. It's best sold phone from oneplus.
3. Again, the selling poit of the oneplus 5 was succesfull, oneplus doesn't need to go against samsung. Oneplus only launches flagship phones.
4. So you're saying, if the oneplus costed 800 dollars more people would buy it? Do you actually think before commenting stuff? It's one of the cheapest flagship phone with a snapdragon 835 and was welcomed by media and reviewers overall.
IT still mantains it's flagship killer tag.

Better for less is pretty much OnePlus's motto and they forgot that with the 5. They could offer a phone with better specs with a slightly lower price and be fine. OP5 was overpriced.
Why do people like you keep encouraging these companies to screw over the consumers? Phones must have a higher price tag to be better?
