I don't get why I should worry about them knowing it. it could be for learning user habits and improving things. still not nice of them to not clearly indicate they're doing that at the beginning. but people are paranoid too

I'm surprised to see that this "news" just spread around to damage Oneplus' image. It's unbelievable that the guy just blindly turned on his phone, accepted the "Terms and Conditions" and for sure the I D I O T also agreed to join the "User Experience Program". But then, after clicks and checks, he finds out that some communication is going around from his phone towards Oneplus... For f**k's sake, read what's going on when you agree something. Of course the retards are gonna make a story out of nothing and all the phone sites are going to post it as it's some braking news... In every ROM that you will install or on every phone that you will firstly boot, you will get the question to join "User Experience Program", and you should uncheck it or answer "No"... That's it.
PS: GSMArena, the title is sh-it and should be changed. It's clear as daylight the this Moore guy is an idiot, don't make him a star for his stupid acts.

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2017Chinese good at this shiiit. stealing without permissionBy using your phone, you accepted the general terms by clicking i Accept.
Read it before agreeing.
Every OEM has the possibility to do this, Apple is the one with the most "stealing" methods and nobody is complaining.
Google also matches Apple, by using google, youtube, facebook, everything is stored on a database according to your usage. And that since the beginning. Only in 2017 people are getting suspicious? Come on, grow up

Come on people, nowadays everything is monitored. You use google, google collects all your search results. You go to youtube, youtube collects the videos you have been watching.
You use a phone, they collect what kind of usage you're doing on that phone.
I'm ok with it because i know it's for development purposes.
If it wasn't the case, almost no improvements could have been made. Why do you guys think Android OS or IOS is so optimized nowadays?
It's not only because of the SOC, look at the essential PH1. It has a snapdragon 835 but everything is laggym buggy and stuttery. Even tho it has been build and supported by Andy Rubin.
Look at oneplus, how fluid their phones are...
I'll say it again, for me it's ok if they collect my data only to support and improve incoming devices

Eske Rahn, 11 Oct 2017Just a general question: How many of you guys think that G... morei remember nokia's Evilness. sell everything to our govt . I can not say whether it was political pressure or not? plus nokia old s30 in some model was totally un hackable LOL like nokia 1100 . there were some truth about this phone but rumors mysts shown . such you can find police at some situation that would turn on flash... or something i read on gsmarena about some even older model of nokia which sell in south american drug seller . i think it's ok this news shouldn't be to important if you have Huawei or all other OEM even from china . don't worry because they never do something evil . but always be ware about apps . app with lesser users with plenty of access and permission can bother you . apps with high amount of users just steal data for data mining , ad purposes , and if we think like paranoia s , they sell them to govt/org to know people's psy . NO PROBLEM With This Huge Stealing AT LEAST NOT FOR YET - steal be ware always -

from news:
Chinese phone maker OnePlus is under fire once again as it was recently discovered that it was collecting users’ analytics data without their permission. Data collected by OnePlus from its users include IMEI numbers, MAC addresses, mobile network names and IMSI prefixes, serial numbers and a lot more.

Tucking Fypo, 11 Oct 2017I am more annoyed with Windows 10. That thing collects data... morei have not sources for my talk, but they may could do same thing in other version of windows,
as malware / spyware Can do same thing with your pc. these are affect normal people, so people with strong anti-virus/malware or Geek who pro they use safely. They Do all these thing i hope only for developing at most. they sell them , use them in bad security situation, overuse. they sell to ad companies due to their jobs are not money maker enough . or they want feed their greed. i heard same thing 'bout xiaomi phones before . Hope Lenovo and especially Huawei safe from these thing . Apps do same thing too made by Specific companies and generally from China. using a phone whether iOS whether Future phone lol no one can tell about safeness it's joke but but it's ok not this story bout onePlus .

Anonymous, 11 Oct 2017Seems like there's reading comprehension issues with people... moreWell I was talking in general terms, not limited to OnePlus.
Of course if people (as most does) just blindly accept the default collection options, that is their own fault. But I was talking the collection despite these options.
I have answered no, and disabled all I can, and still google start stuff and have data activity...
And if you bothered reading you would have noticed that I on Nokia ended by "But using a US based OS on top makes the end result dubious security wise anyhow..."

Eske Rahn, 11 Oct 2017Just a general question: How many of you guys think that G... moreSeems like there's reading comprehension issues with people in this article. All that data is collected if you opt into the user experience program which you're prompted to enable or disable when you first get the device and which you can disable at anytime in the menu. If it's disabled, the phone collects the usual basic data any company collects including Nokia because they're all using Google Android OS.

This company has been a fraud from the very beginning. First it was the invite system (as if they're top dogs), then they cheat on benchmarks to try to sell their flagship killer nonsense, and now this. They might have good phones but I'll never own one.
