GsmArena guys are so delayed. I read this article 5 days ago! You guys used to be the first now you hardly bother!
As for the update I have the N8 and been waiting for sooo long. The phone is nearly a year and a bit old. Even Google is updating it's phones quicker. Come on man!

[deleted post]I don't care who makes the lousy screens. It is Nokia's problem to correct. Nokia is still putting them in their top line phone and apparently still selling to lots of unsuspecting people who don't do any research before they buy something.
Nokia should trash the screens and not build/sell anymore N8s until "whoever" can supply good screens.
Maybe they will use the great N8 camera in one of their new Windows Phone 7 models, but as I said, I can't wait around for them.

HyperX already done this, so this is well out of date, just like all nokias, how can nokia be one of the best fone to becomin so dated,

I can not waste any more time on this. I need a new phone and will have to forego the excellent N8 camera and move onto some other phone.

tell that to samsung.they r the ones who supplies those amoled screens.

Has anyone hear Nokia has fixed the "purple screen" problem? From what I've read, it has been observed on all N8's manufacturered after approx. Dec. 2010. I've waited to purchase an N8 until I know a phone I order now will have a proper quality screen.

I got my N8 a few weeks ago and I'm in love with what the camera can do. So for Nokia to update the camera and make it even better is just awesome!

Wow.. Anna shows very good performance improvement over PR 1.2. Definitely Symbian can do much better given 1+GHz processors and 1GB RAM, why cant Nokia go with both Symbian and windows mobile.. they can take time to develop symbian and release WinMo7 phones but sorry Symbian you are getting KILLED..!! Come on Nokia retain Symbian..!! There are many S60 lovers..!!

there are just a few things wrong with n8 right now
the browser - use opera
lags, freezing - non existent
apps - growing, i miss maybe one or two from android
usability, ui - coming from android, its different, but you get used to it within a week
cant play videos over 2gb - its not that important for most people, but i would like to play larger files
its not perfect, but more perfect than other phones out there, especially in hardware.
i use a mod for camera (30fps, 95% compression, continuous auto-focus) and to be honest, there isnt a big difference.
still, its nice to see improvements, no mater how small.
its a shame android updates are not hardware oriented, but rather bring silly tweaks that they should have done a long time ago...
i still dont see proper multitasking or offline voice dialing / commands that work as good as in symbian of 2006 till now. not to mention that for business people, e series is still the king

Nice enhancement for video recording. The continuous autofocus is already used by SE, lg, samsung etc. But nokia join the technology very late as usual. The frame rate increment is not that much amazing enhancement. In my opinion 25fps is the better rate anyways.
Nokia yet lacks an important enhancement of zoom power with the gant12MP sensor of N8. Nokia sould implement at least 20x digital video zoom in it. After this enhancement The N8 will go rock. Please nokia do this. Zoom power is very nessesary and i love it while video recording. One more thing, give it real digital zoom technology.
