LG V30 lives through scratch, bend and burn tests

19 October 2017
A harrowing ordeal for most smartphones, but the V30 is made of tough stuff.

A good phone on its won. There is no reason why LG paid Zack/JerryRigEverything earlier for a favorable review.

g3, 19 Oct 2017You live couple of generations in the pastIs that Barry Allen messing with the time ?

Overall, a pretty well done to LG (V30).

If you ever have a burning flame at your phone screen, you deserve the dead pixels to be honest. If your job requires that you be around fire, obviously don't buy a luxury flagship phone, instead buy a cheap secondary phone for job hours.

Zeeshan, 19 Oct 2017Where is LGs auto shutdown and random reboot test. That is ... moreSince the era of removable-battery phone is finished, the bootloop problems are gone, too...

mircea, 19 Oct 2017"grilles of the stereo speakers are metal" That's what is ... moreNo source needed. They messed up. V30 does not have stereo speakers. They need to edit it out.

Zeeshan, 19 Oct 2017Where is LGs auto shutdown and random reboot test. That is ... moreAnother who lives in the past and whose brain does not evolve or learn from the present. LG's current models no longer have these problems. Search out better and if you come to criticize because you are a hater, at least, do it with tests and links.

The S8 showed better results. The screen turned white after more seconds durability and recovered at 1st try and at 2nd try it didn't even turn white or got damaged and until the 3rd try it turned white and didn't recover. The fingerprint sensor was working perfectly fine. The bend test more or less was the same.I'd say LG should have put more care into the screen and fingerprint sensors. Then again the LG back camera has more options and it's better than the S8 so not everything can be perfect.

Where is LGs auto shutdown and random reboot test. That is the major issue with LG.

SZtadir, 19 Oct 2017Well.... Fingerprint scanner didn't do so that great though... moreYeah I think G6 fp scanner still worked so this one should too

Kangal, 19 Oct 2017Am I the only one that wants to see a Controlled Drop-Test?... moreI want to see a drop test too as V30 has MIL STD 8100 rating which is odd for a glass phone but on youtube everything is clickbait if you find a correct link please share it

"grilles of the stereo speakers are metal" That's what is written in your introduction to the video. I can't find anywhere the confirmation that is has stereo speakers. What is your source?
                          Thank you

LG claimed big things for the LG G6, but I was quite let down. The V30 should be better, but by how much? Over at AndroidAuthority they want to do a showdown between the LG V30 and the Samsung S8 Active. Again, I don't think the V30 would win but I'd like to see how well it can match the ruggedised Samsung.

If they are close, due to over-engineering, I'm willing to give "all glass" construction a pass. However, if the build quality follows previous (fragile) trends, then I shall stick to my notion that phones should have Metal or Polycarbonate body materials instead. Or really large protective cases, especially with the price rises.

Lumia 950 XL NOTHING happened when burning it. He was going for a minute and the screen was perfectly fine. Of course it didn't do as well on other stuff due to it being plastic haha.

I don't want scratch test, i want it to sell here LG !!!!!!

SZtadir, 19 Oct 2017Well.... Fingerprint scanner didn't do so that great though... moreYeah.. Buts still the fp scanner is recess(so no scratches when laying on the back) and i don't think people will put razor blade on the fp scnner
