Dear Sir,

I have always been a big fan of HTC. I am using my 5th phone in 5 years from HTC (HTC Diamond Pro, HTC Diamond 2, HTC Hero, HTC Desire and HTC Desire HD). I am currently using HTC Desire HD. Earlier I use to buy the phone in the gray market because europe version of the phone use to get the software updated faster than the Asian countreis. But i got my HTC Desire HD from Hong Kong and have been waiting for ages to get the Android update on it. Since it is the phone made for the HK market it has still not received the update. Most of the countries around the world has got the update a very long time ago. I am really disappointed that even after buying the phone from the legalised channel and paying so much extra money, i still have to wait for so long to get an update. This is really very sad. Even Samsung is now giving regular updates. If this is the way HTC would be working then I am sure many people would shift to from HTC to samsung, after all HTC seems to have stop being as creative in bring out new phones. At the moment HTC seems to be more bothered about getting out as mony models as possibles then getting out 1 or 2 state of the art phone. Look at Samsung Galaxy S II and you will know your answer. I am so tired of this rubbish that I would like to put this email on every blog that I can.
Thank you.
Yours truly,
CB

been using htc for the past 20 months.... was a loyal fan.... but this announcement made me lose confidence in the company. first citing lack of memory (maybe they want us to buy more phones ditching the old ones), then taking back its word (must certainly because of customer outcry). still love their phones, but now will think twice before buying my next phone. a real confidence-buster...

It was actually a ROM puzzle, not a RAM puzzle. RAM is more than enough for gingerbread, 576MB

Hahaha... HTC did it with my Hero. I mean they gave excuses like Hero's CPU isn't sufficient, RAM isn't enough bla bla bla...
so My Hero is STUCK with eclair, luckily I managed to root it and I can get wifi tethering, which I use a lot. While Apps to SD card I can't do because I don't understand the procedure to put a costum ROM.

Anyway, they did the bullsh!t with HTC Hero, and now they do it again to HTC Desire, and all I can say is Looooooolllll.... :D

                Good Job HTC.

They thought they could do a Sony Ericsson. SE really stuck to their decision ignoring the X10 mini/pro and X8. Depriving them of android 2.2

Thus they retracted the specs of the W8 and gave it a 2.1 because it had the same specs with the Minis.

It just proves that HTC does listen, while SE is all about money.

                Bravo HTC!!!

                    to HTC,

Guys...As a respected company you should always have a concrete answer...Because if its not it may lead into negative atrittion rate..

                    Just an advice ...

                    sincerely yours,

I'm from brazil and I hope google takes action soon, the Android updates. What we are not ignorant! companies say they can not for reasons of hardware upgrade. the same as the sony ericsson talking on their phones, well, that's a lie so many hackers can put the latest version of these devices. such as the X8 says she can not put multi touch, nor Froyo, let alone the bread, but the network already exists at the device versions with multi touch and bread. Now I ask a question like that you can not put these versions, since google gives priority to development performance, ie, a way to make it lighter, I mean, if he can handle the eclair, or Froyo, that are heavier versions, then surely the youngest stand, since it does not come with increases in the UI.

                                    Thank you HTC !
This is why I bought a HTC phone in the first place.
This is what they promised us in the first place.
                                    In short, this makes Sense.
Dont take us for a fool, if mankind can walk on the moon and drive rovers on the surface of mars, surely you make your software work on phones you sold us.
I know I can. Now you try HTC !
Let us hope people at HTC aren't all running in pink underwear but get the job done perfectly and on time.
                                    Get on with it.

They sure like to test our patience. But I think it wouldn't stop people from getting HTC phones. Android os E-G? Now that's something. I think they were trying to stick to their two os policy with each phone. Well done people, you've changed that!
