iPhone 7 sales doing well is not surprising at all, the previous generation phone always continues to have good sales.
The only issue this year is that iPhone sales will be for the first time split along two new lines, 8 and X. A combination of total sales and revenue will give a better picture.
We will find out come November.

LOL these ... moreiPhone X introduces new things which iPhone users may take time adjusting to. Removal of Home button is a big step. Therefore introducing two lines was a good way of mitigating this risk.
Sales of iPhone X will be the only indicator whether iPhone 8 sales were weak due to anticipation of X, or whether it was just low in general.

LOL these are just comforting words...simply delusional..
If people are waiting for iPhone X then the sales of iPhone 7 wouldn't be so good..
People realised that iPhone 8 is not worth the price/upgrade and therefore went with the cheapest option available.
iPhone X won't be able to save Apple either.. It will be Ultra Rare (2-3 million unit at launch).. Super pricey plus driven up by scarce availability.. And those few early adopters will bash at the lack of TouchID and unreliability of FaceID and other issues.. By the time Apple sorted out production issues, the iPhone X will have lost its steam and already outdated and newer devices will have storm the market.. Apple will experience the 1st year of anemic sales with billions of profit lost and stock price drop
Apple is doomed.

Im an apple user and I like this news. Next year they will have to make more effort and not give us some old specs and a overpriced beta full touch/look weird design phone.

IT was a smart move on Apples side. Think with your brain and not your generic apple fanboy hate.
Here I'll do it by steps to make it simple.
1. Sell a really underwhelming phone.
2.Showcase a SUPERULTRA COOL FANTSY Phone in the distance.
3. People mock the underwhelming phone, but hype about the upcomming one.
4. People preorder and buy the new phone on release day.
5. Apple wins, again.

I don't think Apple made a wrong decision to release the iPhone 8 along with the X. However, where I feel they have done wrong is sitting on the same design 4 years in a row. Jony even have the cheek to said they worked on the iPhone X design for 4 years. So for 4 years his yearly KPI is pinned to the design of 1 phone. Regardless of number of iterations, that is part of a design phase and not an excuse for sitting on it. And to be honest, what is so great about the X design? I don't think Xiaomi took 4 years to release a well designed Mi Mix which is almost bezeless.

iPhone is slowly dying like what happened to Windows. They can't dominate outside of US which is currently dominated by Android
