i downloaded software update to my pc for defy selecting my country as retail uk from link posted on gsmarena...what happens if i tried to update my phone from india??please help...

Yet Another Android, 16 Jun 2011Amazing how much XDA has done for Android. Without XDA, And... moreI own a Defy and I'm really satisfied with its performance, OH NO wait!! that's not because of the heavily bloated and amazingly slow 2.1 Eclair I got pre-installed, its totally because of the custom ROMs. Open Source FTW! xda FTW! My defy reaches an amazing 1600 on quadrant with no overclock.

htc desire (originally a 2.1 phone) got updated to 2.2 and now users were angry because they would not get 2.3, and here defy users are just coming abroad 2.2, crazy.

just phoned motrola not happy they cant push the update to my phone nor will support the update with a mac!
cant belive a company huge in the states & uk doesnt support mac usage. i refuse to dual boot to windows just to update a phone.
nice one moto late update now no update for mac users!
what a waste of money! cant even destroy the bugger :P

The same update is available in Romania, and France, there is a small issue with camera that shoots black pictures after update, but it can easily be solved by clearing cached data of camera app. The phone is a little bit snappier with the Froyo. Any way the biggest performance issue is the heavy motoblur interface, with LauncherPro the phone acts like any top single core phone.

The Defy got the FroYo almost 2 months ago
