Motorola cannot even roll out brand new devcies that are up to date. Their flagship (the Atrix I believe!) product was still running Froyo when HTC, LG and Samsung were all rolling out their flagships with 2.3. That is not even an update and still they lag behind!

i dont want that...........i have cm7 (gingerbread) on my defy.......motorola UI is not up to the mark

have you ever thought that the hardware of the defy doesn't support android 2.3?
and after all the isn't a huge difference between 2.2 and 2.3

This is a perfect example of why I will never buy a Motorola phone. An update that is out of date before the even start rolling it out! Why could they not skip 2.2 and go staight to 2.3.4 or at least 2.3.3. They should have new DNS domain for them. At.Motorola.Everything.Must.Be.Out.of.Date.com.

defy to all, 16 Jun 2011Guys, girls... the only huge difference between 2.1 and the... morethere's a world apart between 2.1 and 2.2. and all because of the jit compiler, everything runs 2-5x faster ! ;)

Guys, girls... the only huge difference between 2.1 and the rest of all systems is the Flash player! So, why should I update my phone with 2.4.5.x.y if this version is perfect for my hardware? I have a cute small phone which is doing perfect its job. I don't need the useless bling-bling iPhone or a "photo frame" like Galaxy 2 :)

Motorola, welcome in to the past, we allready using 2.3.4 on our phones and u come with an amazing software update, 2.2 :) In a few months, Google will release the 3rd phone with 4.0 and u release for Defy 2.2 .
Well, @ least i'm happy i'm not using your produsct anymore, after my touchescreen of my Milestone died and the update come when Google release 3.1, have fun Motorola with your slow phones, i hope u go bankrupt.

Really? They're just getting Froyo at this time of the year? Moto is even slower than Nokia when it comes to updates. They need to drop their Blur crap to speed things up.
