16 June, 2011
Shortly after the Nokia X7 became available in the United States, the other Symbian Anna running creation from the Finnish giant made it across the Atlantic as well. Of course, we are talking about the QWERTY...

You're obviously in denial. Try again, you blind fanboy.

It's no longer my problem if you believe it or not. The defect affects the majority of the N8s. Most owners of the N8 are not even aware of the defect and it seems that Nokia is powerless in fixing it. If it only affects a small number of N8s then why is the defect still around even after 6 months since the news about it made it to the internet? If it only affects a small number then Nokia would have supplied its Care Centers with the defect free screens but they failed to do so even after 6 months? The screens that they are using to replace the defective screen also have the defect and that sends you back to square one.

My friend how could I have left that out. Thanks for the reminder.

Yes Nokia phones are indeed drop-proof (new word ha ha)/schock proof. Nokia phones can take a good beating. Drop them many times and they still have life...Nokia phones have more life than a cat (smile). I have seen so many other brands that easily got damaged due to falls especially those overpriced PLASTIC Blackberrys.

One person's Blackberry fell and died another person's Blackberry fell and the camera stoped working properly...after activating the camera, you have to squeeze the back of the phone to see the view finder. Crappy phones.

I have had so many Nokias throughout my life and NOT once did any of them die or stop working properly due to drops. Nokia phones are simply the best value for money, day in, day out, week in, week out, month in, month out, year in, year out. NUFF SAID!!!

It sucks to be you. My N8 is perfect, has an awesome build design, has only crashed once in 6 months, and the browser works very well. The reason why the iphone browser is so good, is because it eliminates that wastes of space that is Flash.

I already took it 3x to the NCC in hopes of getting the purple tint fixed but they couldn't fix the defect. Everytime I take it to the NCC, it comes out with complimentary scratches. It's far from a perfect device. The browser is so bad and I must admit that it's not on par with Android that I have to use Opera. As one poster noted, the iPhone 2G's browser which was released in 2007, has a better browser. 4 years after the first iPhone's release and Nokia still don't have anything that comes close to the iPhone when it comes to user experience. The build quality of Nokia phones have gone downhill too. The N97 also have its fair share of defects.

As a user, the experience I had with this device is frustrating. It shows how behind Nokia is and how sucky Symbian is when it comes to user experience. There you go, I just admited the flaws and weaknesses of the N8. I am not surprised to see Nokia go down hard and loses market share.

people always say that symbian is dead, lag, low numbers in processor

But how about your 1.2ghz dual-core android even it has that numbers its always lag and crashes
Dont deny it,680mhz vs 1.2ghz but the nokia still the winner, android win in processor speed but in functionality and realiability nokia is the King

I think this phone will sell well like the E71, E72 and currently E5. Most of the people are now in the trend that bigger is better but all comes at a price; a bigger display and processor requires a bigger battery to hold on for a while. The same goes for OS, not everyone need or want Android, BB or iOS. It´d be a boring market if there only where those choices. That´s the beautiful thing of the cell phone market, you have plenty options to make the best choice according to your needs.

As far as I´m concerned Nokia is just that way for me. Symbian may not be the most eye candy, fast or flexible OS (meaning number of available apps) but it´s stable, reliable and it´s been a tried and true formula for years. I´ve just gotten an E5 last week to replace an E63 and I couldn´t find a comparable phone with all that stuff, I know my phone isn´t a top end phone but for its price it has a lot of great features that no other smartphone in that price range could offer me.
So I´m really looking forward to this phone´s release here in the Americas, I still trust in them.

BTW: Original Jamaican, you also forgot to mention Nokia phones aren´t only waterproof but also shookproof, most of today phones can´t handle drops as Nokia phones do.

This phone.. Is gonna be a huge success atleast in India.
With a price of 18k bucks, it's a fukkin' good deal!!
Considering the N8 and E7's current pricing.
This one is surely gonna give BlackBerry a run for their money. :D
With a Pixel-Per-Inch density as high as that, plus the AMOLED.. This would be the best-in-class Business Phone.

                                Good Going Nokia..
A few more of these, and the WP7,
might be the KICK that you very badly needed!!

Bit I'm agree this phone don't help in any matter to Nokias loss, they only hope is WP7, if not, Nokia will have to eat their pride and makke Android phones or die.
