And the problem stated in the article shows the issue in an extent. AMOLEDs still have latency in pixel response, but in this one, it's just too much latency that occurred.

I dont know but for me the quality control of 2017 flagships is lower than last year or just people nitpicking the issues, start from sammy red tinted screen, Sony camera distortion, OP jello effect, buggy iOS and now black smear screen and etc.. Companies are like rushing their production and shipments. So for the buyer better not to rush buying a phone on day one out

As an owner of a few LG phones this does not suprise me as their quality is very low. This trend of unreliable phones has been going on for many phone generations. Never again will I buy their junk.

Samsung has the priciest OLED displays on the market for a reason - they are the best and Samsung invested billions in their development. Also, Samsung's display manufacturing facilities are already working around the clock in order to make enough displays for Samsung and other OEMs who buy from Samsung.

LG, on the other hand, doesn't have such a huge R&D department nor the budget Samsung has, so their displays are cheaper, but also more prone to issues due to the lack of proper development.

OEMs like OnePlus can afford AMOLED displays because a) they use FHD panels, b) they don't order many panels.

Imperator Neubaticus, 24 Oct 2017This never happened with any of my samsung phones: s4, note... moreYou're such a blind person I can surely say that. I've been using Note 4 for 2 years and I've used Note 5 for 4 months. All these S-Amoled screens have this issue. The issue is about high refreshing time of diodes when there are dim. At higher brightness levels, this issue becomes less annoying.

It seems Google didn't prepare enough for this device. Indeed they are still amateur at smartphones.
But still, this is unacceptable, knowing how OnePlus started making smartphones with no quality issues or such.
