Google just never wants to accept the fact that their phones have problems. They just want to sweep it under the rug and expect everyone to just deal with it. At least some people are willing to call these issues out without sugar coating them, and that separates the real people in the tech industry from a bunch of shills.

wow. they call it differential aging. at least, they are honest enough to call it aging.
from the sound of it, there is indeed premature ageing on the panel but only on a few pixels.
the fix though is still terrible as it maintains the white background where it should be the inverse of it.

Also "don't never" means that they sometimes do and it's also ironic that you say 2 excellent phones and a decent one, which were in no way worse than any other smartphone in their release period and in fact from better to way better (except the A9) had random vague problems (plastic? except M7 they almost had none of that, camera? HTC has always been average, you knew what you were getting into because even 10 has a mediocre camera despite all the praise it was getting, battery? so full of it).

To get burn-ins on an LCD I'm assuming that phone was on for countless weeks, not days. Probably had the stay awake option on max brightness.
Either way, I still find it strange. My phone is 4 years old and not one problem.
Sony may have big bezels (which I actually like), but they compensate with very good quality build and superb software experience.

Guys as HTC fan i can tell you it's HTC fault mostly they don't never make good hardware in phone something always fails.Had htc one m7.m8.a9,sensation xl.I liked all but every of those had problem like speaker blown,battery as usual for htc,plastic cracking,camera problems.But on other hand i really really like Sense UI but i had to give up from htc because of hardware.Also i know about m9 that it overheats and cracks also,and has blown speakers mostly.and battery problem

Anonymous, 27 Oct 2017That or it's not that major of an issue now and was exagger... moreIt indeed isn't much of a problem if you keep brightness at normal levels. I have had an LG G Flex 2 and it's poled display never showed any signs of burn-in in the nearly 2 years of usage.
The Galaxy S5 mini I have from work does not show any burn-in either after 1.5 years of usage, but I keep brightness low ay pretty much any moment, because it's already difficult enough to keep it going through the day on 1 charge as is.
In any case, I personally prefer a proper IPS display. Currently I have a Mi Max 2 and it has proper blacks as one would expect from oleds and (considering it's size) is extremely power efficient.

Whats the point in two years warranty if they deny the problem now itself. Muted colors, color shifting and pixel burning......three problems will spoil the whole experience and not to mention the hefty hefty hefty price the consumer pays.....

Sorry, but this time Google wrote nonsense. Same aging as any other oled brand?????? Yeah like 1 week of use and your screen is f**** :D I have amoled galaxy s4 which is 4 years old and don't have any single issue or degradation, this is complete nonsense from Google, next year they will just start buying amoleds from Samsung and will act like nothing happened :)

people never learn. It's always lies, exaggerating, and denial. Especially if something else is better than what you want or like. Oled is just an amazing technology. Why be upset about it instead of embracing it?

The only issue I see is them claiming it's a non issue. Though any other company would do the same.
The rest they are mostly right about. While the viewing angles may be a couple generations behind it's not something entirely out of the norm.
However most people didn't experience burn in within the first week. Though again probably going to be exaggerated way more than the issue actually is.
And on colors....Wow....10% more. You know darn well people would have wanted that extra saturated mode from the beginning. Yes. People want accurate colors and choosing that for default is fine. But to not include the saturated mode at all?? When you know despite the crap lies people talk on the internet many people will choose vibrant colors in real life.
This is 2017. Android 8.0...It's Android. With 8 and 12 core cpus and graphics pushing 4k on 10nm SoC's going to 7nm soon. With 3 and 4k displays. 8GB of ram and 128/256gb storage options in phones.
And you can't include simple options????

Just like Google with vanilla Android. And most of iPhones are assembled in china. Some in USA and that's it. Samsung LG HTC Xiaomi Asus and just a few more brands produce phones by itself, most companies only pushing just OS. But in OS fragment Best of the best are Google and Apple. LG Fan.

Nonetheless, I won't defend for Google over poor QC since I would expect them as customer of LG to perform rigorous testing since it is sold as a Google flagship phone.
