I don't like phones with minimum bezels and 18:9 aspect ratio like the S8 or G6. I have tried both phones and didn't like watching content on it and holding it. I love the 'old skool' design of the iPhone 8, with the fingerprint scanner on the front, bezels to make it easier to hold especially while watching videos in landscape mode, and not to forget the fantastic dual stereo speakers which I use a LOT for watching videos, listening to music and for social media apps like Snapchat and Instagram. I like bezels and don't understand all the whining and crying about people wanting the bezelless and (imo horrible looking) edge displays.

AnonD-205566, 30 Oct 2017Also: I wonder if any of those people saying they don't car... moreI owned the HTC One M8, which has the overly hyped front-firing stereo speakers. People said they could play some lower frequencies, so you wouldn't need external speakers. They couldn't have been more wrong. Same flat sound as every single phone out there and for serious listening, I always connected my HTC to my amplifier and external speakers or used headphones. After that phone, I'm now at my 3rd phone with front-firing stereo speakers and when I'm picking the next phone, I just couldn't care less if that has only a single bottom-firing one. Lesson learned the hard way, they all sound too flat for my taste and so it's better for me to focus on getting a bigger screen instead of stereo sound. :-)

I'm not trying to be a bully or anything like that, but I honestly laughed out loud when I read this: "I gave up something that's become integral to my daily life - a quality pair of stereo speakers".

That sounds like he had to sell his quality pair of external speakers just to get a new phone. :-D I'm one of those people who don't give a damn how many speakers a phone has, as they are always the worst option quality-wise for serious listening (for example, all of them lacks the low frequencies completely, like sub 30 Hz -bass you get to hear/feel with a pair of quality speakers or with a quality subwoofer).

All that matters to me is that the phone I buy has at least one loud speaker for ringtones/notifications etc. I never use my phone's built-in speakers for anything, unless I have to share the media with my friends/family and there isn't an external amplifier + speakers available.

I always carry a small portable DAC and a pair of in-ears with me, as those take about the same space as a regular USB-stick does. Music does not deserve to be ruined by tiny phone speaker, no matter if it's stereo or mono.

I chose speakers over screen because I think that a good screen needs a good speaker setup.

Also: I wonder if any of those people saying they don't care about stereo speakers ever had a phone with dual front facing speakers.
Yes, bluetooth sounds better, but it's not in your face when you're sitting in your couch playing something. I watch a ton of youtube and netflix on my phone and a single speaker doesn't even come close, no matter how good it might be or if it's facing you instead of your hand.
The earpiece/speaker single setup is crap compared to dual speakers. This is the main reason why I'm still holding on to my X Pure. It the mess with the Pixel 2 XL ends up being just afterburn instead of burn-in, then I'll upgrade to one of those. You need to have had a phone with stereo front facing speakers to fully appreciate how big a difference it makes.

You'd have to be DEAF to think the iPhone 7 sounds better than the Axon 7. That's some serious fanboy stuff right there... Or some equally serious deafness.

              Honestly dude, wth.

Stereo speakers...on a phone? Really? Why? There needs to be some physical distance between speakers to have the benefits of stereo sound, and the separation distance on a phone is negligible. It's a gimmick. If you want proper stereo sound, use ear phones. Also, if you're in a public area playing games or video, use ear phones, please. - It's more immersive, and everyone else appreciates you doing that.

It's great to have more screen but they need to get their ratios right. No more of that weird 18:9 stuff that would leave a black bar in most videos anyway.

I personally prefer more screen. I use earphones if i ever need to watch/listen to major content on my phone anyways. So a bigger better screen would be more beneficial to me.

Sorry guys, but this first person say: "I'm a "audiophile" and he uses Beats! For me Beats is the most non-audiophile product ever!

If Samsung had front speakers like Pixel 2, High end Xperia and old Htc ppl would have different opinion.

Everything Samsung and Apple dont use is considered gimmick until they do.

Many Samsung users used to say waterproofing and glass back were stupid. Same avout dual cam.

Don't care about stereo speakers. BT/wired headphones are much, much better in stereo output than any stereo smartphone. And I too watch a lot of TV and movies on my mono A5, S7 and Tab A 8.0. The sound is really ok. If one really wants the best audio experience, they would have a 7.2 audio system and their phone plugged in with jack.

It's more than just dual speakers. Just try to keep holding your phone properly when playing games or trying to keep the camera still.
