I go prefer Minimal Bezels over Stereo speakers, like Paul said.

One case I don't see people mention much is gaming; I find that having any cords plugged into the phone can get in the way quite a lot while playing something that requires quick reactions. Having good onboard speakers is really nice in this case, and front-facing ones are especially nice because your hands don't block them while shifting around. I don't mind the extra bezels if they're designed in a way that looks good, like with the HTC M phones.

Sim card became mini, micro, nano and finally eSim! SD card it was too... I mean why not both in one package
Less bezel or (bezel-less) feat two (even four) powerful speakers in invisible size!? I guess doesn't matter audio quality in internal speakers for S.phones makers (Barring Sony) for sure! unfortunately

Just came back from the mall where I got the chance to play with the XZ Premium. I am so going to buy the red one when available.
I don't care if it has slightly bigger bezels. It has stereo speakers and it's not that prone to get wrecked if dropped like the S8.
The S8 is a beautiful device but if you're gonna put a case over it it just isn't the same. Plus I hate those edges. They look good but they distort the image and that's a no-no for me.
Looks or functionality? I choose the second one.

I would say this is pretty much a non issue.
Phone speakers are generally quite bad. So Mono or stereo wont make a huge difference.
And the screen is so small that it wont make a huge difference.
If your phone is your music central and you want to have music in your room, simply get a speaker/speaker-set-up that fits your needs. There are portable single unit (stereo or mono speakers), that compltetely blows any built in speakers out of the waters, even if they fall way behind a proper stereo or surround system.
The advantage of a dedicated speaker is that it will work with your next phone, so you wont have to take that in to considiration.
Few people in their day to day life, will have any real use for quality sound coming out of their phone, unless it is about beeing able to hear the ringtone. So having a separate speaker, is really not that much of ah issue, as one wont have to carry it on a day to day basis. There will be no need to be able to fit it in a pocket.
If you watch TV-series on your phone, for any other reason than killing time when travelling in some form, I would suggest getting a better device for the purpose. The screen is still too small, and it could very well cause issues with ones vision, in the long run.
And when travelling, one can't use speakers anyhow.

I got no such speakers, but it would feel definitely more premium. Even without bezels, there is tech to make speaker of any surface, or you could use edges for it. Those who do it, respect. Same in tablet world - see how you got stereo in ipad, 4 speakers for every rotated position.

I don't actually care about stereo speakers as the use of smartphones become ubiquitous. There are less chance that you can find yourself in a noise-free environment like a cozy room. Thus, i'll just have the small bezels and just get a good pair of earphones.

I actually don't really care about about the stereo speakers, if I want decent sound ok plug in a decent headset, and if I'm being fussy at home il just pair a small Bluetooth speaker which you can get on the cheap. I had the HTC m7 which was good, but didn't leave that much of an impression on me to the point stereo speakers was a must.

I don’t understand why people can’t live without stereo speaker. True it’s a plus but not so useful for me. Nobody listen music with mobile speakers because despite stereo speakers sound is even worse on mobile phones. We can’t listen music properly with mobile speakers. You will miss the sound quality

Throw in Bangladesh, Indonesia, and Pakistan and it's over half. This website really dropped the ball with appealing to a world audience.

I wouldn't mind slightly larger bezels to have stereo speakers, but it's not essential since i rarely use them. I'm not a huge fan of this taller aspect ratio trend so i'm really fine either way..

Honestly for me there could be 1bit buzzer instead of speaker as far as phone have minijack.
Screen bezels or even thickness have nothing to do with its removal, its stricte marketing way to milk customers from money(you need to buy new cables).
I prefer and would expect from others privacy. So listening anything on phone is just annoying and rude. almost 24/7 we are around people in loud environment having with you headphones is like having with you wallet it dont bother you. For most of time you can keep headphones behind shirt, you cant say the same about BT headphones.

The Pixel 2XL's bezels are perfectly slim while housing speakers.
