Yet, just 4 years ago, Note 3:
Best screen bar none for the following year (only Note 4 surpassed it)
Most RAM for the following year (3GB started 9 months later)
First phone with mature big.little CPU (another year for the rest to catch up)
First 3000+ removable battery (autonomy off the charts, far better than any modern phone)
Pen support that was only surpassed by Note 4... etc!
Back in '13-'14 Samsung was 1-5 years ahead (depending on feature) w their devices.
By now only the screen remains that is -still- ahead (but not by that far much anymore).
What happened? You tell me.
I loved Samsung, used to buy a new one every year. Heck my main phone is still a Samsung (Note 4)... but after Note 4 they've stopped trying. They peaked and now they're falling.
Stop pretending that everything's aight, the internal problems they have (as a company), the infighting translates to sh*tty products. They either turn around the ship or they become the next Ericsson ... record profits or not (BTW current profits tell *nothing* about the future of a company, only of its past).

(low actual PPI, exceptionally low non removable battery, 5% faster from exynos 8890 of early 2016, 6GB of RAM in the era of 8GB, etc)
By comparison Note 3 was unbeaten in most categories for almost a year ... its sales too.

It pains me too. Samsung was one the to take me first in the Android side (many moons back, Samsung Vibrant) ... too bad that they're mediocre at this point (w exorbitant prices).
Samsung has become poor man's Apple. Way too pricey for what they sell, but what they sell also happens to not be better than the competion. Every single Samsung -these days- have fatal follies. Compare it with S4, Note 3 and Note 4 that had basically none...
I'm telling you man, ever since they sealed their batteries this company is in free dive. No new ideas, merely keeping the momentum they had in allways cheaper categories up until they're out of ... cheap categories.
Next w Blackberry's fate incoming. If iPhone X fails I predict that 2020s would be neither Samsung's or Apple's... they had their run and the same as old Nokia and Ericsson they may well fade to the background (Apple at least is trying with X ... Samsung still nothing, last in specs, last in actual performance, mediocre in battery)...

All this is Samsung A and Samsung Js ... they're too ashamed how much of a fail Ses and Notes are of late.
Note 8 is the worst Note in history (seriously Note 4 is *still* better at important things)
And S8 actually is worse than S7 in pretty much everything.
Never before did Samsung fell so low in high ends ... they don't even care, they merely release those phones so that to make Samsung Js and Samsung As seem like great deals by comparison (they ain't ... by I digress).

But Samsung is lowering pricing after launch to ruin the profit margins of the competition which launches its phones later throughout the year because Samsung uses the initial Bbtch of snapdragons for itself. Samsung tries to squeeze out the competition this way.

I like to see what Samsung can make with the profits. They doing good by not being greedy unlike Apple and making a bigger effort then Apple for less monies.

Best smartphone company im a world, not much competition to face for marvellous trio Note 8, S8/S8+, just price hikes of both, Apple and Samsung is really worrying. Samsung is still offering much better value for money thing when Apple, but Samsung clearly signalling for shift to Apple strategy to milk
