This is a software bug, right? So they should be fixing it soon, like any other software bug before.

It's not that I'm saying that this kind of bug is "okay" for a $1000 phone, tho... Because it's affecting phone calls.

Removing the headphone jack is stupid as it creates more wear on the charging port leading to earlier port replacement, unless companies provide two (2) USB-C or Lightning ports on their phones.

unlike the other "S" brand, who fixed its camera distortion bug after more than 6 months

Still, a $900 phone shouldn't have problems at all.

Don't know the cause, but occasional freezes are normal and these sound app specific. Freezing the phone and not just the app is pretty serious if it's a frequent issue.

There it is. The secret of the thousand dollar smartphone. Some have come to accept that its OK to have a faulty device to start with since "updates" would surely fix them. And that I think is the reason why most phone makers settle at releasing not-so-good devices. Updates should not be seen as fixes. They should be enhancements. If proper functioning of a phone relies on updates, you better get your hard-earned money back. Unless your money grows on trees.

Both HTC and Sony take care of their software before releasing them to their products. If any, it's maybe the Android OS's fault and not them.

Anonymous, 01 Nov 2017Oh god. Because every other phone hasn't had some form of b... moreThe difference is that the same problem has happened to others for maybe a hardware-related defect. Where have you seen a $900 flagship freeze and requires a restart? I certainly haven't, especially in this year where even a potato mid range CPU could be toe-to-toe with a high end in terms of pure speed, fluidity, and stability.

Besides, the faults of others don't make up for what another one has made. Apple, LG, Sony, HTC, Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, Asus, and all of the other OEMs are out of topic when it comes to a problem from Samsung phone that was made by Samsung using no parts or labor from any of them.

[deleted post]You're quite closed to "JUST" Samsung and Sony. Every manufacturer's article's comment section is pretty much blown up with the fanboys and all of the fightings even without the fans; you can't blame them.
