Was planning on getting the new Series 3 watch, thought I shouldn't after I read this post, then I realised it happens only on the GPS-enabled units. Meh, I guess I will wait for the Series 4 watch anyway.

Can Apple ever respond these issues with their products without blaming the consumers?

can't you see its a feature... crapple invented them.... they could get it patented next month....

kiloh3rtz, 01 Nov 2017I am an apple user not a fan ...but by the looks of things ... moreI agree with you to a large extent, but actually this is not aPple only.

Over the last decade or see we have seen slight evolution in smartphone from year to year, but not anything revolutionary since touch screens became common.

Sure we each year see slightly better camera, slightly better cpu, slightly less bezels, et cetera, but nothing that substantially make the vendors devices stand out from their previous models.

Perhaps the truly flexible displays might give us something that can change the way we use them again. Unfolded for two handed usage with easy browsing and folded for single hand and pocketability. Perhaps it will even be something totally new like Glasses for both eyes and in air 3D gesture controls that will completely change the user interaction (and could make a new company with the right patents the new king).

Apple is replacing all affected units. Maybe Google should replace all Pixel 2 instead of saying it is no big deal.

OLED is too sensitive, issues like this will continue to emerge in tightly packed advanced devices. we need nanoscale silicon laser displays, Intel should form partnerships to finance more work on it, rid the world of the oled dependency. Oled and amoled are too expensive to accept limited lifespan and notable issues, and has too limited lifespan and notable issues to be expensive.
If batteries were better watches could use lcd but then watches would be thicker, new display tech is needed.

the maximum price of these smartwatches is 99 EUR, and paying more is just throwing money away.

I'm very very far from an apple lover, but this does not sound like a problem worth swapping a device... Purely cosmetic, and in the huge bezel-area, not he display area of the already ugly pill box on a string...

Or am I missing something ?
