Get over i... moreIf typce c audio is so much better, than why don't we have standards across platforms, whether you use a old flipphone or a 2017 macbook? What makes type c better than an over 60 year port still being supported by top tier audio equipment manufactures? I would like to use typce c as the standard for all ports one day, but the 3.5mm not only has the support from devices it's "competitors" are not up to snuff.

First of a... moreFirst thing first, 3.5mm jack is powered and two way connection. There are passive speaker who rely on 3.5mm jack for the power and headset+mic combo with a single 3.5mm jack
If it being removed because the sound will be way more awesome with USB-C, sure. But even Apple didn't dare to make that lie, hence their insistence on the word ''brave" instead.
And with 3.5mm jack, i could buy things like G6 who already have decent DAC built in and doesn't have to buy comparatively more expensive Headphone with built in DAC.
It's a scheme to make you buy more expensive Headphone while reducing the built cost of an already $700+ smartphone.

If Samsung ditches the 3.5 jack i will be staying with my S8+ for a few years before looking elsewhere. I have used expensive bluetooth headphones... don't like charging and the quality simply doesn't compete even with cheap wired headsets.
I'm sick of apple doing dumb things to make more money they everyone else following suit.
I think Samsung will have learn't from their Note 5 SD card debacle and will keep the jack though.

Let us not get confused. A headphone jack per se is NOT compulsory. What is important is for phones to have two ports, one for charging, other for connecting the headphone or other peripherals. If the second port is a digital port, fine. Will just buy digital headphone for it, as that may qualify as 'progress'
Replacing two ports with one is not progress, just 'courage'.

I seriously hate when the earmuffs of the headphones rip off or are removed. It's seriously annoying! so I decided to stick to the typical cabled earphones.

I wouldn't want to have to charge yet another device (I already carry a bluetooth speaker too because of the crappy loudspeakers most manufacturers put) and carry another charger/cable. There's zero comfort in that.
And i don't want headphones that only last as much as their battery. And i don't want to be forced to buy another pair of headphones just because a manufacturer tries to force me to.
And my car amplifier doesn't have bluetooth.
There are tons of reasons why headphone jack is obligatory.

There are phones with IP rating and 3.5 mm jack And for many people, 3.5 mm jack is used more than USB especially those who commute daily in trains. Why wear down the power port for something that's redundant is beyond me. Also I have my senheiser in ears. Am i supposed to use silly adapter with that just because a company wants me to? Sorry but I'd keep the jack.next what USB port gone due to wireless charging?

1) The cost of the CD/USB is always added to the price of the car.
2) Cars don't have the microscopic space constraints and design limitations of mobile devices.
And you always get an external DAC and/or USB-C headphones, so don't lie about not getting anything.
And "don't talk about wireless" you say AFTER TALKING ABOUT WIRELESS YOURSELF.
Mobile devices have a very limited space for components. Having redundant functions that take up space is a bad idea. You already have audio output via USB-C and Bluetooth at exceptional quality. Having a 3.5 mm port is just adding unnecessary bulk.
And "dongles" are temporary and only if you use 3.5 mm headphones instead of USB-C or Bluetooth headphones.
Sony started their IP-rating at IP57, Samsung at IP67 several years later (and with failures due to poor reliability). The S6 even lost its waterproofing, which should tell you its not an easy job to waterproof a phone. The fewer ingress points you have though, the simpler and more reliable the solutions can be.

While in the case if headphones jack, they take and give us nothing, don't talk about wireless, it's already there when the headphones jack is around, it's good to have both since we're dealing with smartphone that all about making life easier not harder with stupid dongle life
Extra ingress, sony and samsung has ip68 while iphone still with ip67 without the jack

I have a big Bowers & Wilkins speaker setup at home, I use Fidelio headphones with a dedicated DAC/amp, and... Guess what, I use Bluetooth in-ear headphones when I'm out. Why? Because it's noisy outside of my listening room, and I don't want microphonics or vehicle noise to ruin my listening, so active noise cancellation and wireless audio is the best alternative there.
Bluetooth can give us far higher resolution audio output via aptX HD or LDAC than human hearing could ever perceive. You don't need the 24-bit, 96 kHz, 990 kbps audio for Bluetooth to be "acceptable". Even aptx HD gives you 24-bit, 48 kHz, 578 kbps audio. The compression on both happens well outside of human hearing, and is inconsequential. Even audiophiles can't tell 24-bit apart from 16-bit audio.
I can't decipher the last section of text you wrote, but moving the DAC/amp over to the headphones is a good thing in a day when fewer manufacturers care about including good audio outputs in our devices.
