AnonD-659932, 01 Nov 2017lol you have no idea what you're talking about... usb-c and... moreI know perfectly well what I'm talking about.
First of all, I said USB-C can give you a far better audio EXPERIENCE.
The sound output from USB-C headphones will be the exact same, regardless of what source you plug it into. You can also choose how much money you want to spend on the audio, meaning manufacturers won't ruin your listening by having the worst DAC/amps installed. You can also get active noise cancellation and built-in equalizers, since USB-C is a powered connection. And the audio peripheral manufacturer can hand-pick and tune the DAC/amp they put into the headphones.
The weight difference is minimal and the price depends on just how good audio you want. You can even get really good Bluetoot headphones today for $30. And why on earth do you think USB-C headphones are "less durable"? That's just nonsense.

Anonymous, 01 Nov 2017If all brands going to ditch 3.5 mm headphone jack, there's... morethat is what I am doing sticking with older phones with headphone jack.
Sick to death of apologists recommending this dongle and this solution all because of the removal of 3.5mm jack when if they did not copy silly apple and keep headphone jack none of this fiasco would be happening.
Sick of people on twitter as well recommending this solution and that solution to a problem that did not exist if they kept headphone jack. :((

Kiyasariin, 01 Nov 2017I kinda disagree here. some people.INCLUDING me. like to us... moreNo, I would ask "HOW THE [Censured!] do you charge your phone on a bus while using headphones?". It sounds like you're just creating a wired mess for yourself.
And no, wireless charging isn't the only option. You can just as well just get a splitter. Though I have no idea why you would even need to, when phones have amazing battery life and quick charge technology, and Bluetooth headphones have gotten absolutely amazing.

If all brands going to ditch 3.5 mm headphone jack, there's a simple solution! I'm just going to buy an old flagship which has headphones jack. No one likes Apple Samsung or any other brands that follow removal of headphone jack for the sake of technological advancement.

AnonD-659932, 01 Nov 2017lol you have no idea what you're talking about... usb-c and... moreAnd to think this Bluetooth earphones don't support quick charge so, you have to wait for it to charge and your phone to charge (even while your using the charging case some comes with).

FinnishInquisition, 01 Nov 2017The 3.5 mm port is replaced with the USB-C port. Get over i... morelol you have no idea what you're talking about... usb-c and bluetooth absolutely DO NOT give you better sound quality. Sound signals are analog which are output by the DAC. Usb and bluetooth headphones have horrendous dacs unless you get into big $$$...
Either way, they will always be more expensive, heavier, less durable, etc...

And what?
Next year, they will be like Google to remove it, too, after mocking it this year?
Ooooh please.......
Even Samsung is being silent with that thing.
Why mock up someone when you're basically gonna follow suit to it anyway? Kind of st*p*d I'd say.

FinnishInquisition, 01 Nov 2017The 3.5 mm port is replaced with the USB-C port. Get over i... moreThe day when people like you understand what sound is the world will be a better place to live in.
Sound that you hear is & will always be analogue & good old 3.5 mm jack perfectly fits in. The point that you can route digital signal in hilarious sample (192kHz & more) rates to USB don't mean much it's up to amp, pre amp and DAC along with cans you use to make something of it. Same goes for Bluetooth but all up to date codecs are restrictive (besides latest Sony one) and make cut-off's in both highs & (worse) low's so don't expect fidelity there. At the end as we can't hire higher than a 20 kHz all those EPP about insane hilarious sample rates are just that & nothing more tho it can be useful with widening spectrum (sample rate) to achieve more separation (sound stage) & that's it. Naturally amp, DAC, DSP & everything else will stay on the phone side as it always whose as you won't believe but speakers & microphones there are analogue (as always) so removing of the 3.5mm port is a pore excuse regarding both cost and space savings consideration.
At the end it's only about "Fool's & Horse's" (see BBC series) as it always whose.

FinnishInquisition, 01 Nov 2017The 3.5 mm port is replaced with the USB-C port. Get over i... moreI kinda disagree here. some people.INCLUDING me. like to use that port mainly for the porpuse of using it wired. I love also to charge my phone WHILE listening to music. however you may claim "so just use a wireless charger goatdammit!". a little question for you. my chum. HOW THE [Censured!] do you use a wireless charger in a bus!? this is why you need BOTH ports. charge and 3.5mm audio

The 3.5 mm port is replaced with the USB-C port. Get over it guys. This is starting to sound more and more like people complaining about the tape recorder disappearing from cars.
USB-C gives you a far better audio experience anyway, and Bluetooth can stream 24-bit, 96 kHz audio at 990 kbps. There's no reason to still take up a whole lot of room and have an extra ingress point into the phone for a port that doesn't need to be there.

I still hope 2018 flagship phones get headphone jack back.
I like new technology, I've been using multiple Bluetooth headphones for years, but I still say that removing headphone jack has nothing to do with improvement!
It just put us to inconvenience for manufacturer's ego
