AnonD-491921, 02 Nov 2017You haven't used samsungs ultra power saving mode yet.Im a only Samsung user since 2012 here and I can you the UPSM is useless. Who would live with the phone with only such basic apps like calls, sms and browser unless they are lost in the wild and that battery is so critically important that they would turn on UPSM. I used to switch to UPSM too when I'm not using the phone much on S5 but now with another phone I've never turned on UPSM more than 5 times in 1.5 years.

Whilst this is welcome, my unlocked s8 is still on Augusts patch when many older devices and non flagship models are up to date also with Bluebourne fixes.

Sony Fanboy Bitches, 02 Nov 2017Now let's be real. I give my applauses for Samsung, no sarc... moreLets be honest here
Sonys phones are butter as all hell and has alot of good features ans is insanely optimised something samsung has never been good at but they are getting better and with samsung exp 8.5 they were VERY close to doing so
Next year sonys joining the infinity bezel less race and im eagerly waiting for what they bring and their 990fps is simply killing it
But samsung deserves credit where its deserves it
In terms of software sony takes it but hardware its samsung
They both do what they are good at extreamly well and im hyped for what their next generations offer

Now let's be real. I give my applauses for Samsung, no sarcasm intended.

Seriously, at least they're doing their best at updating their phones and are giving signs to the users that their devices will get it soon after they develop it.
It may really take very long to happen, which is kind of a turn-off, but by contrast, do we see any sign for other competitors like Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, Xiaomi, LG, ZTE, etc., for the Oreo update?
See, you get my point there.
This certainly deserves my big thumbs up despite not really liking Samsung that much (and so many Sammy CANCER FANS attacking me as if I did something terrifically wrong against them or what).

Vegetaholic, 02 Nov 2017Sony firmware does not have even 1/3 features of Samsung ex... moreLike Sony's own skin on top of Android with all of their featured apps and features that are all well-implemented with no problems in just under 2 months?

If you'd ask me, that's insanely good.
Samsung takes longer to update because of their insufficient capability to fully optimize their damn software.

AnonD-27765, 02 Nov 2017Sony doesn't have half the features of Samsung.Really? I tried a Note 8 for once and the only features that I could find are all those related to S Pen, but other than those, it's pretty much the same thing as the S8 brothers; simple with not really that many features, just heavily skinned.

And the difference between Sony and Samsung is that every features on Sony literally works as they are intended, while some aren't for Samsung.
Screen resolution change is an example, where there wasn't even an increase in speed for the phone, and neither is there for battery life; simply just there and does no change at all.
In contrast, Sony's Stamina Mode seriously extends the battery endurance when activated. Ask all Xperia users and they would tell you how true it is.

While that, the oneplus 3/3T are already in Oreo Beta for weeks.. Oneplus 5, nothing. There's no support whatsoever.

Anonymous, 02 Nov 2017Have you seen the change log ? The features are just 😭😍😍 ... moreYep, I agree. Actually, I didn't word my last comment very clearly. I was meant to say, Samsung users would rather wait to have their phones updated to Oreo, because their current OS is already feature-rich and any upgrade to Android Oreo would only be noticable by tech enthusias person. It's the Samsung Experience 9.0 update that trully matters.

Anonymous, 02 Nov 2017Have you seen the change log ? The features are just 😭😍😍 ... moreBut at least Sony has done better with timing upgrades starting Android 7 Nougat update and Android 8 Oreo update than it was on Android 5 Lollipop and Android 6 Marshmallow update and adding much more features than before . But i do had to appreciate Samsung on update tho because they need times to do more additional and fixings things i like and pushed Google to its stock Android experiences (apart from Samsung Galaxy A3 6 85% battery problem and unbalancing Samsung Experience 8.x Launcher update to some phones [ex : S6 got 7.0 but not SE 8.x meanwhile J5 6 got 7.1.1 and SE 8.5])

                                        The features are just 😭😍😍
Id seriously rather wait 2 more months for it than go for sonys noticably plain skin
I mean cmon people its easy to copy paste an entire os on to the device
But adding and customising it that takes time and i dont mind waiting for it
Wanna example 8.0 brought a cleaner settings menu to android
Samsung had it since note 7 😂
What are they gonna do for 9.0 ?
                                        Popup multi tasking ?
                                        App pair ? 😂
                                        Edge lighning ? 😂
Honestly i dont care who copys who all i want is better os and noone can dought the fact that samsung and google are providing this
