Drop a decent quality USB c to 3.5mm converter in the box and no issues.

FINALLY! A CEO who actually knows his technology and audio :) As they said, Aptx/bluetooth still not as good as wired headphones.
Great job! Keep the 3.5mm jack alive Oneplus!

2 MicroUSB's are ok, but I support keeping the 3.5mm jack.
Mr. Lau, a good decision! Keep it up,

I had this idea ever since Motorola decided to be the first ones to remove the headphone jack but the problem is that Google (Android) isn't making it easy for headphone companies to make good alternatives. Two USB C ports would make a lot of sense if there were a bunch of USB C headphones out there but there isn't.. As a result nothing can properly replace a good headphone jack, a technology that's over a century old but still very handy and consistent.

But there is a huge vast majority.
And good job playing your role as the happy sheep here.
Oh well you can buy this and that accessory....Just like the companies want you to do. Congratulations.

The only reason companies took it away was for pure greed. And people are blindly following and defending like happy sheep.

AnonD-438089, 02 Nov 2017Why anybody feels the need to discuss it? EVERYONE has a de... more1) Not everyone, I've personally owned many company phones to which I've never physically plugged a single headphone.
2) In late 2017 I can think of better solutions than to rely on analog jacks created before digital was even a thing. I can easily imagine a world in which those who really take quality serious could take a lossless digital signal and use proper (external) DACs with proper amplifiers to get proper analog audio quality. I refer you to point (1) as to why this is actually a better idea than hoping everyone foots the cost of these proper components inside the phone.

I prefer 3mm jack as headphones are universal and cheap. But if usb-c headphones become more popular then I wouldn't mind as long as there is a guarantee of better audio etc.

Two type C ports would have made more sense if the jack was removed. Then, people could charge and listen to audio. I prefer the 3.5 mm jack for many reasons.

You think usb-c ports are superior against headphone jack? Why we don't see those usb-c ports available on high fidelity audio equipments for headphones? All I see those hifi audio equipments with tens thousands dollars price STILL relying those your-so-called-stupid-jacks-cuckolds for headphones and no usb-c ports for plugging your headphones.

Anonymous, 02 Nov 2017You mean the people that unlike you actually have a brainThose people are holding on to the past. I'm ready to move on like the rest but there are many more who are resisting. Besides, I'm the kind of guy who doesn't use Aux for the car, listen on my headphones (I had another phone to do that for me), the kind of guy who isn't a power user but wants a flagship to feel great for myself. I for one want a phone with no jack but two or more ports (USB-C) like the old days.
Speaking of which, remember the Nokia N8 where it has a Mini-HDMI? God, I wish companies like Nokia would do that again.
