Zoser, 05 Nov 2017It is an attempt to hook Razer customers with the excuse of... moreMan its a razer first phone.
More will come in upcomming time and as expected from razer have many of their products they will improve everything else to make all their fans and gamers 101% satisfied.
This is just the prototype. The first one. And as that is AWESOME.

This is just beggining of new gaming era.

Zoser, 05 Nov 2017It is an attempt to hook Razer customers with the excuse of... moreYour don't know what are you talking about. While quich eye move hou will notice frames until 80-100 hz. While fast scrolling -too. So all what you wrote has no sense.
And why nobody noticed there is no usb-c - 3,5 mm jack cable in box. There is external hi-fi dac with impressive quality instead.

Is it the ultimate gaming phone?
        The true answer is: maybe.

There's no deny that its slower processor, optimisations, and App Catalogue put it second to the iPhone 8 Plus from one viewpoint.

However, if we're talking Android, then maybe.
Third-party titles might not be able to match the iPhone, however, it does have a lot more freedom especially when it comes to things like Emulation. Here, we can say it definitely has the best processor and screen combo... so its definitely a contender.

But having the best hardware isn't the full picture. How about r00t access?
I know certain Apps/Games benefit from it, so without it, we could say the OnePlus 5/Pixel 2XL is the better choice. If it does, then it still doesn't mean it is the best, it just means its still a contender for the top spot.

The last part that comes into play is controls. While this doesn't have physical controls like the JXD 8700b, JXD S192k, GDP XD, GPD Win, or Nvidia Shield Handheld. It also doesn't have an attachment mechanism for a removable controller like Moto Z, Essential Phone, Razer Edge Pro, or Nintendo Switch.

So the final question is how does it connect with gamepads?
Could be an Xbox One S controller, a DualShock 4, or maybe the GameSir T1S.
If it has no issues pairing, and better yet can do so with a wired connection to reduce lag and extend battery life/gameplay... then yes, the Razer Phone would be the best for 6 months.

        Why 6 months?
Because we're expecting to get the much improved QSD 845 and Exynos 9 to ship in the next Samsung Galaxy S9 devices in March 2018. And other OEMs (OnePlus, Xiaomi, ZTE, LG, SONY, HTC, etc etc) to follow suit in June 2018.

Anonymous, 05 Nov 2017I am getting this phone for sure. Front facing speakers, 1... moreThe lack of the 3.5mm jack, waterproofing and only gorilla glass 3 makes this phone really unappealing to me.
Why should I buy this over the XZP or V30? I see no reason whatsoever. With the XZP I know for sure I can root it as Sony provides official bootloader unlocking on their website not like other brands cough cough Sammy cough..
I do like the monolithic design though. Glad to see not every brand out there is flooding the market with that cheap pebble look. I hate round corners. Bleah!

It is an attempt to hook Razer customers with the excuse of being a gaming product, but it is still another phone with the SD835 and stereo speakers. You will not notice the 120Hz, the human eye can only see 25 fps. And probably has more battery consumption due to that. I remember that the battery life was declared under strict conditions and with only 25% of volume, to die laughing, come on. It does not even have a dedicated chip that provides any advantage or extra feature in games about other high end phone.

yes this is right now ultimate gaming phone but for VR. Problem with all current devices and cardboard/gearVR headset is that phones maybe can put for most of time 60fps, but our eyes need MINUMIUM 120hz refresh rate to feel comfortable.
Its not about amoled or LCD, its not even about resolution, because all is in details of quality of display it self, you can have 2k screen wth poor quality or 1080 in smaller form(5-5.2inch) but with proper screen quality to get best VR experience.

Now with 120hz screen and really nice package that should fit to most of VR headsets we can get best experience.

True that we still lack any proper vr content and most of what we have on market is copy of the copy of the copy of lame shooters or boring labyrinth games, and most of apps are just for watching videos or panoramas, and even google compression literally kiII quality of even 4k VR content so its paint to watch, but maybe with devices like that we will get something new and exciting.

I seriously consider getting this device just to get back to VR that I left year ago.

lantian, 05 Nov 2017Was super exited about audio until they got to usb c to 3,5... moreGiven that you shouldn't use your phone when charging anyway - helps preserve battery life by a long way - I don't see why people complain so much about not being able to use it when charging. If you're putting your phone through heavy use while charging, you should stick to phones with user replaceable batteries for when you break them.

lantian, 05 Nov 2017Was super exited about audio until they got to usb c to 3,5... moreMy words exactly. RF isolation won't get better down the line, nor jitter or channer separation suppression. Quite the opposite, the smaller the PCB (in dongles) the worse the quality.
But it seems even Intel can't figure this out.

                              Hi Author,

I do really hope you include GPU-intensive games like the Emulators for PSP, PS2, Wii, Xbox, etc.
That way, we'll know if that phone is REALLY for gaming.

                              Thanks

Was super exited about audio until they got to usb c to 3,5mm dongle. How can people call it progress if you are back to carrying more devices around with worse audio quality than whats available already in many phones that have proper dac/amp stages.
