Maybe "relaunch" in the title would have make more logic.

Anonymous, 03 Nov 2017Do add OIS...!OIS, f1.8 lens, slightly lessen the mp count to maybe 16 and make the sensor size slightly larger at 1/2", and increase the pixel size to 1.4um, along with better camera software and image post processing, and it's pretty much a photographer's dream smartphone.
IMX400 and every Sony's IMX flagship sensors are the best in the business, but Sony doesn't know how to build a strong armor to go with it.

Put this into the perspective of smartphone cameras:
Sony is a King with the best powers but has sidekicks that are even weaker than a child.
Against the competition, Samsung is a Powerful Leader (not the best nor the strongest) but has an army of strong men like wrestlers that is just a notch below Samsung's level.

TheGoldMellifluousXZ, 03 Nov 2017Possibly Super Slow Motion? Predictive Capture? Autofocus B... moreWell I surely doubt Sony would do dual cameras.
Tbh, I don't really care about it. My sister has an iPhone 7 Plus and the thing that I cared about it the least is the secondary camera. Apart from it's only good in daylight, there's really no major use for it. Quality depletes like from a massive 500mp image to VGA when you start using the zoom. Portrait is a big pain for having to stand away farther just to get it right and working(though the results are fun I would say, but still isn't super meaningful in reality).

Personally, I would just take dual cameras away. A sinvle but large sensor with very adequate number of million pixels will always be better than a dual camera setup; I mean a dual mediocre camera setup. The best thing that I could think of using a second camera is wide angle. LG nailed it right and they're the only smartphone manufacturer that could really compete with Sony in imaging excellence. Samsung is nothing but oversharpening and oversaturation, sometimes even overbrightening/overexposing. The best example is the LG G6. I can't believe the level of clarity of images/videos out of a tiny mid-range sensor.

Maybe Sony could use dual-cams or maybe three/four-cams instead (we already know when Sony joining a trend that was a hot cake, they usually take it beyond it and always made a headline no matter how it is, ex. QHD screen on most flagship, 4K on Sony flagship, etc.)

                  HTC has dual camera
                  Asus has dual camera

                  Sony has?

I hope it's a RGB-Monochrome combination, and that they've nailed computational photography with the new, faster Snapdragon 845 as a help.

Honestly, back panel in this phone does remind me a badman with liquid form in terminator 2 (on bike with eyeglasses xD)
