Alien Dalvik will let you run Android apps on the Nokia N9

Still some 2 years on an no Alien Dalvik for N9. I would say if it hasn't happened by now it won't. This is really disappointing as the N9 is a great phone. Why Nokia bothered with their huge Singapore launch of the N9 is beyond me, especially knowing they were killing off the phone.

In my opinion, MeeGo can have a huge support given by the third party company ... lot of linux developers will give a big life to this phone ... I believe in that =)Just love this phone ... the slide kills me xD

Anyway, many people love Nokia, hate monopoly, he can try to stop consumers, but nothing can prevent consumers love a good product.

this os is nice, why the elop wan to give up it ? since wp7 and it also new os, but wp7 achiveve nothing in past 1 year, why don't nokia promote own os, then will be cut cost and make the phone cheaper becoz they no need to pay microsoft for every phone sold

Everything is amazing about this device from the design, to the colors (Even though White should be included even though I'm getting Magenta :D ), To the OS which is super customizable. Nokia did a great job with this device but I'm still more of a Intel and LG supporter of Meego than Nokia but this device is sweet

Once Meego is in the hands of the public and XDA get a hold of it, Meego's gonna become HUGE!!! XDA is the main reason for Android's Success. Well and Verizon.

I will be buying this N9 regardless of that the battery may not be removable (hopefully it is) and no SD card slot (Hopefully one is put on it even though 64GB is more than adequate). I have waited far too long for Meego and I am NOT passing this up.

MeeGo is looking really amazing. This is how the interface should be done.
It will be interesting to see how large part of android apps the Alien Dalvik can handle. Still, doesn't really matter to me, N9 is a definite buy.

I realy have to laugh at some of the coments being done here.
First of all this will NOT,i repeat,will NOT spell the end for Android and IOS.Just because a phone can emulate Android apps that does not mean that the OS itself will die.People do not buy Android phones for apps alone.In fact as it has already been said here before most of the apps on the market are preaty much useless.
Second Alien Dalvik was NOT,i repeat,NOT MADE BY NOKIA!Yes it runs on a Nokia phone but it was not made by Nokia it was made by a third party company to try to make Meego a bit better.However it is my honest opinion that this will not save Meego.Meego is a DOA OS it will go the same way Symbian did.WP7 is the way for Nokia to go and possibly reclaim it´s throne on the mobile phone world
