You need to look at it, it'll show the unlock sign, then you need to swipe it up. I'll say it definitely takes more time than fingerprint or iris scanner. They could skip the swipe to make it easier. I really hate swiping up every time to unblock the phone. Again I wish the rumored fingerprint sensor on apple logo could be true

AnonD-1825, 07 Nov 2017Galaxy S8 couldn't outsell even 2-years old 6s, nextA two year old phone outselling a 7 month old phone? Wow that's unusual!(sarcasm)
iphone 7 sold less than iPhone 6, so it must be worse by your logic.

Got mine today in silver, it really looks good but about the bezels, the black bezels on the side doesn't let it become a bezel-less phone. The down bezel is also visible and the notch on the top. I hope they could bring the curved display as rumored earlier. It could make it the best looking device. I saw an S8 and it looks completely bezel-less on the sides due to the curves..the other thing which hurt the eyes is the protounding vertical camera. You can't lay it flat on the surface. Overall S8 still looks better due to the always on display and curved aesthrtics but iphone x is all the best looking iphone.

Should've put the essential PH-1 in the comparison. Aside from the camera cutout, it has the bezels in the right spots IMO. Side bezels are very narrow. A chin on the bottom is useful because trying to use the nav buttons when they are that low down compromises the hold you have on your phone - same problem I have found with below screen buttons. IMO they could have gone for a shorter screen and had a bezel at the top, but I really don't mind the small camera cutout and the extra height is good when it's used by apps.

The bottom bezel makes it symmetrical, which looks better, but wastes a bit of space. The iPhone X even made these parts next to the notch screen, so there is minimal bezel and space being wasted

Rather going bezel less, I seriously wish these smartphone manufactures went with large capacity removable batteries. There are numerous areas where you can develop and bring a competitive smartphone. The new Razer phone just stepped up the whole game. Very appreciable effort going with a complete gaming specs phone. Asus Zenphone AR brings the Augmented Reality to a whole new level, the battery capacity is a huge turn off though. Asus Zenfone 3 zoom, highly commendable for its 5000mah battery in a sleek body, the the camera and video quality could have been much better. The new Sony XZ premium for its 960fps Slow motion capability despite of low capacity battery. Back in the days, the Nokia was innovative. The phones like N82, N73, N95 Engage, 5800 Express Music, 9500 communicator, 808 PureView, Lumia 1020 were outstanding in their class. There are numerous areas the smartphone makers can concentrate on to bring "one of the kind" devices rather jumping into bezel less bandwagon with low capacity batteries. I am proud to have owned and used these devices. Nokia 6600, Nokia 6233, Nokia N82, Nokia Lumia 1020, Nokia Lumia 1520 and Moto Z play. I regret buying Iphone4S and Samsung Galaxy S3.
