I bought a wireless charger for my s7 used it for a week or two never used it again. Ihave an s8 + now :D

I actually find it more trouble than wires!
But If you car had a wireless charging place thingies or the coffee shop you go to it's a different story. but I don't find those anywhere and I always charge my phone before going out! it's even easier if the charging is fast c: (I nerve use fast charging though)

AnonD-696124, 09 Nov 2017what has a headphone jack to do with wireless charging? Pho... moreThe headphone jack does have something to do with wireless charging. If you have no headphone jack, you use the USB-C/Lightning port for headphones AND charging, so it will wear faster over time and constant use. Go wireless on one of the two (charging/bluetooth earphones) and you're now abusing your only port only half the time.

Jibran, 09 Nov 2017I fail to understand the concept of this *WIRED* wireless c... moreExactly. The only time it makes sense is if you're sitting in a restaurant or pub or coffeeshop and they have wireless chargers on your table, then it's pretty cool. But for home, office, etc usage, it's beyond useless.

Phones remove headphone jack for water resistancy, space management and cost efficiency. For wireless charging you need a back Plastic/glass. Glass is a fragile piece of material which cracks in a minimal drop height making the phone aspect fragile. You need a lot of plastic to make a phone sturdy and imo plastic is something nobody wants in a phone.

i totally agree. Wireless charging is misleading. contact charging is the perfect definition. It's a pad you still need to put into a wallsocket. Here in portugal there is nowhere a wireless charging pad in stores, or restaurants, macdonalds,...
First i even heard about wireless charging when i bought my nexus 5 i was confused. i thougt my phone could charge when it was on my pocket picking up wifi signals somehow. Later on i searched and you needed a Wireless charging pad and the phone needs to lay on it to charge.. Wireless charging right now is a gimmick, something nobody needs.
I never used it on my nexus 5, i could charge my nexus on my car trough the radio usb port while driving.

Fully agree with OnePlus on this. No point making the back more fragile for so-called 'wireless' charging (so-called because the phone needs to be in contact with the charging pad). Plus, using this 'wireless' charging also means that we cannot use the device while charging.

Dash charging is a superb feature on OnePlus phones.

OnePlus is a strange company that seems to feel the need to explain and justify every design decision to the world. Just make a good phone, sell it at a good price and most people won't care why you left out wireless charging, do not include a micro SD slot, "recycle" Oppo phone designs, don't have water-resistance ratings, etc

Wireless charging is useless until the time of full charging from empty to full will be around 5 minutes, not more. Wireless charging is now useful only if you are blind or cripple.

"The company will consider adopting wireless charging "when the time is right""
This is true. I don't see any point in using wireless charging, if the base station still has wires...connecting a charging cable to phone is not much of a big deal, especially if it's USB Type C port. If majority of surfaces, like desks, monitor stand, etc. supports wireless charging, then Wireless Charging is great.
