Wireless charging is useless. I love that I can say that now and not be called names because the iPhone finally has it. It's still useless. It's slow and you can't use the phone when it's charging. Just plug in, it takes two seconds

Too bad. My car has one of those vent magnetic holders which includes wireless charging and I love it. I guess I'm not getting this phone then :)

It's not just about what's better, it's about having the option to choose which charging method best fits your situation. More options is always better. Plus it helps reduce wear on the USB port.

I have a Samsung S8+ and Samsung Qi charger. Charging through a thick case is slower. It is takes about 3h to fully charge it from empty.
However... Charging being slow, it *does NOT* heat the phone and it prolongs battery longevity! I'm a heavy (business) user and my battery lasts the whole day. I just put the phone on my wireless charger before I go to bed and it's full in the morning. I couldn't care less that It takes 3 hours to charge it.
So....for One+ to omit wireless charging is a *huge* mistake. I've used Wireless charging on Nexus 4 about 4 years ago. When is the right time to have wireless charging if not *now"?
Btw, unlike Qi wireless charger, One+ charger is proprietary and *expensive*!

If you never used wireless charging - don't ever say something about it. First time I used this tech when used legendary Lumia 920. You cannot even imagine how good is it when you just dput your phone to charging plate when go to sleep and don't worry you will turn to fly your phone when you hooked on charging cord in the dark. And usb connector will last much longer.

I never cared about wireless charging. It's one of those features that sound cool, makes you think you think you want it, but in reality they are useless. I am happy as long as long as I have a reversible connector, which is the standard nowadays anyway.

Wireless charging is quite useless thing because wireless unit needs to be connected to wall socket anyway. Not to mention that phone gets really hot that kill battery much faster than regular charger.

I can tell you why ultra-greedy oneplus pushing it's proprietary DashCharge. Do you know how much costs it's wall charger? 33.50$. Once more. THIRTY THREE DOLLARS!!! Of course this miserable company don't want to use standards in own products. 550$ for overpriced chinaphone plus 35$ for charger if you need second one, plus 30$ if you wanna car charger. And after that somebody tells Apple is greedy for it's expensive accessories. Here - pure 146% degrees distilled greed.
