According to BTIG Research, the iPhone is the top-selling phone at Verizon and AT&T. This result comes from asking 250 Verizon and AT&T stores around the US. Even though the iPhone 4 was launched on...

Groudie, 25 Jun 2011It simply means we have a lot of work to do on educating th... moreThere's no better phone then iPhone, and if
you can't afford one that doesn't mean you gotta give negative comments about it...
I'll tell you the worst thing about SGS,and the main reason why i got rid of it,and it's because the phone was laying on my table, all day long, and i asked myself how come nobody called me today ???
I picked up the phone later on ,and saw 11 missed calls,,
Why i missed them, because i didn't hear the phone ringing, how was that possible, because the speaker is located on the back side of the phone,
and once you put down the phone on the flat surface, you can't hear the phone ringing..

WTF is that, you call that perfection ? I paid $750 for the phone i can't hear while it rings?? Are you kidding me ??? Who's the Geek now?
You have to know many ppes use phone for business or make and receive calls unlike you,who does nothing but send and receive text messaging,or if he make calls it's prepaid probably
Feel sorry for you and SGS the biggest Samsung's and smartphone failure..

I don't know what you do with your phone but i don't have so many procedures with setting my MP3 ringtones, and to be honest i don't pay that much attention to it,because i didn't buy an iPhone just to play music on it,as a matter of fact i find it one of the best for business use, much better then BB..

Guys, I have got some personal experience regarding iphone and Android device.....(and these opinions are about devices which are out of box..not jail broken)

            I have a Galaxy S....and my friend has a iphone 3gs...

Our experiences where Android had the upper hand:
            1. File transfer
            2. Can keep any pic as Wallpaper, which is even sent by Bluetooth.
            3. Camera (mine 5 MP and iphone 3gs is 3.15 MP, not a fair comparison, I agree but we are paying almost double for the iphone, so it is a valid comparison :-P)
            4. Many basic applications out of box...not in iphone
            5. Way Cheaper than iphone in terms of cost not in performance :-P
            6. Apple Cant play many video formats out of box...
            7. Fully charged battery lasts for about 2 hrs, on continuous play of any game...

Our experiences where iphone was on upper hand:
            1. High Cost :-P
            2. not many free applications from iphone market(but paid apps are good..but why pay even more for a device that already costs 500 euros ???)
            3. Excellent touch....loved it...(i am a Galaxy S user)
            4. No Video calling even in 3G....WTF?? we are paying like hell??
            5. No front facing camera? so no video calling? WTF?? cost of the device is double than android Galaxy S.
            6. I played only 6 levels of Angry birds (about 30 mins) in iphone 3gs, and the battery is out??? again WTF??

            Coming to gaming experience:
Both mobiles had excellent PAID games in their market...some games from apple are too good (but expensive ofcourse :-P)...but when it came to have games that come for free, Android wins ^_^

            Coming to making calls:
Everyone knows Apple cant catch signal....but still it is called a mobile phone :-D :-P

Now after apple got Jail breaking of Apple:
Wow..the apps of apple are excellent after jail breaking...Android looses completely...sad for me....

BUT BUT BUT......why to jail break a device that is already double the cost of a device which gives even better performance than apple and is almost half the price??? What logic is this???

Robert, 25 Jun 2011"Dude, iPhone has had mp3 ringtones since forever. ... moreAgreed. Much easier. So if setting mp3 ringtone is your main way of deciding which phone to buy then buy Android.

I still maintain, find the phone that works for you. I don't say that everyone should use iPhone. On the same note, Android fans shouldn't impose their choice on others as well.

                  Free choice baby!

                    http://www.pcworld.com/article/156234/turn_any_mp3_into_an_iphone_ringtone.html"

That's what I'm talking about! If you have read that article it says clearly: AAC ringtones! Put it this way: if I follow that logic, I could have DTS ringtones on my SE k750. Even with jailbreak I have to do 10 operations to put a freakin' ringtone! That's absurd!

Try this: go to your itunes on the phone > play a song > options > set as ringtone. See how easy that was ? Unfortunately, not on an Iphone ... This is one of the reasons why I got an iPod, and not an iPhone. And what's the point of jailbreaking, if your warranty goes bye bye in the next second ? So you have to choose: use your phone like a toy and have a warranty on a 500 euro device, or use it like a fully functional smartphone but w/o the warranty.

The apps and UI are nice, but I hate to be limited by what Steve Jobs is allowing me or not to do. All of the hate regarding Apple comes from this fact. Maybe many people in the States are comfortable with this, but in Europe we have a different mentality.

[deleted post]For a fair comparison between devices you can't count in the fact that you jailbreak it. After all, this is not the intended use of the device.

Jailbreaking should not be part of the discussion about 'what is the best phone'. Any phone can be jailbroken, even those that claim they can't be. It has been proven time and again that every system and security measure is breakable.

Stripped down to how the phone arrives in your hands, I would say the Android device does win, by a mile, and that is what most commenters here are considering. The basic, plug-and-play specifics of a phone, not the specifics when you've been tweaking it for a while.

I love it when my two favorite interests come together; technology and movies. Recently a report was published to state that Apple is the top dog when it comes to product placement. In case you don’t know what that is, it’s when you clearly see branded products in a movie or TV show. For instance, Casino Royale has nothing but Sony laptops, DVD players, and phones in it. You may spot Dell computers all over the place in the Bourne trilogy, or the iPhone 2G in ‘I love you, man’. All this is referred to in the movie world, as product placement.

"Apple has been number 1 with its placement of MacBooks, iMacs, iPhones and iPods, for the last decade. Out of the 334 top movies in the last ten years, there’s an Apple product in 112 of them. Crazy, right? Some titles to look out for include: ‘Star Trek IV’, ‘Independence Day’, and ‘Sex in the City 2′. What I want to know is, what TV shows or movies have you seen an Apple product in? Are there any so deliberately placed it makes you squirm? Let me know in the comments below or tweet @TiP_Cam"

The point is that with all that placement designed to create an image it's no wonder
Some of us are more discerning and read reviews, like this from gsmarena on the IP4
                          http://www.gsmarena.com/apple_iphone_4-review-490.php

I did and so did a lot of other, ergo, but I am sure that when a lot of people realise it may not do the thing they neeed it to do "well there is app for that ....not"
I can do everything and more for a lot less and hey if we are talking milliseconds, it not like I had something else to do.

                                        Quick english lesson:

Anytime you read or use the word "loose" or "looser", it is wrong 99.99% of the time. Loose means something that is not tight.

Correct word to use would be "lose", or "loser".
